Hi!

Is anyone living around Monterey? My husband will be heading to school to be a linguist there after bootcamp which he leaves for on May 16th. Then after we figure out if we're getting a base house or not myself and our two little ones ages 3 and 1 will all be going out to join him!

Agh this is all so new and exciting and scary so much change :)

Hey Gina!

Feel free to message me anytime, I live here in Coronado and hopefully I can be of some help to you!  My first advice is try other areas other than Coronado...the area of Imperial Beach is very close by and a lot less expensive than Nado....if you want any tips, we are actually looking at buying in that area so feel free to message me.  Another thing is, maybe you can try Fleet and Family services, I know where the one on 32nd st base is, but I'm not sure where the one on NASNI is, but I'm sure could find it with some poking around....also what command is he with?  You could also get in contact with the command's ombundsman as well, she might have some useful tips for your particular situation.  Gosh if I think of any other potential avenues to pursue I will let you know, these are the ones that first came to mind.....Oh also you could see if the USO has any relief services?  That one I am really not sure of, but its worth a call, at least!  I hope something presents itself for you, and like I said, don't hesitate to message me and I can try and help any way I can!

Just one more thing, TropikalParadize, could you please make the rain go away for Friday?  Thanks!  :-)

Those sound like great plans, Chopsmom!  Hope you guys have a wonderful time here!

Thanks, TropikalParadize, for all the info. I have spent a ton of time looking at the area on Google Earth. We will fly out there right as our area is hit by a huge snow storm. My sailor says that the difference in weather will be shocking! I have planned to spend the day at the Midway (we are aviation nuts!), to spend another day in La Jolla, and to see Point Loma and Balboa Park. But, hey, if we end up just sitting on the balcony of our hotel the whole time talking to our sailor, it'll be worth it!

Hi - thinking of where to stay in San Diego when my son goes out for his first deployment.  Have a reservation at the Hilton on Mission Bay Drive - good/bad/close/far?

Thanks!
