I'm trying to snag the Southwest deal to boot camp, and would like to arrange my flight out to be a little after my son hops on his plane to MA school so we can get him his phone, computer and essentials for the OC Spray. Can anyone tell me whether the MAs fliy out the Saturday after boot camp, or Sunday? Did they fly out of Midway or O'Hare?
Thanks for any help!

Hi my daughter is going to MA school also.. We wont know until week before graduation, but this is what I hear.. They fly out of O'hare and get to airport about 1 am on Saturday morning and do not fly until about 5 pm Sat.. Now anything can change and this is just what info I gathered.. I booked until Sunday to be be on safe side
Tricia, it is good that you are planning to leave on Sunday. Your Sailor may arrive at the airport at 1 am or as late as 5 or 6 am depending on which time she is assigned. She could fly out early in the morning or late in the afternoon or early evening. It all depends on flight availability. She may fly out of O’Hare International Airport (ORD) or Midway International Airport (MDW). All of the Sailors heading to San Antonio will NOT be on the same flight.
Julie, your Sailor will most likely fly out the day after PIR--the only thing that would change that is if your then Sailor has an issue that results in remaining in the THU until it is resolved. You will not know your Sailor's flight itinerary until after PIR. Some Sailors know when they make the "I'm a Sailor!" call, but most will not be able to let loved ones know until after PIR. There will most likely be some from your Sailor's TG who will fly out of O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and some who will fly out of Midway International Airport (MDW). It all depends on flight availability. Buses make a loop from the RTC to the airports and back to the RTC for another group of Sailors several times beginning around 12:30 am and Sailors are assigned to a time, which could arrive at one of those airports as early as around 1 am or as late as around 6 am or so. Your Sailor will know when he will be arriving at the airport and when his flight will be and will be able to let you know following PIR. Send an index card so that he can write down his flight details for you and give it to you following PIR.

Julie, Check your My Page.
I see this discussion is old, but can anyone tell me what the "essentials" for OC are for? I know what OC is, but what does he need from me to bring.
I would like to have that with me when we meet at the airport.
Thank you!
proudnavymom44, see the info on that in Break down week by week.
