OH!  And after reading my prior post about Graduation Day - they come back to their barracks to change into their dress uniform THEN head to the graduation hall for instructions and the ceremony!   Didn't want anyone to think they head straight to graduation right after morning drill!      lol    ;)

If you're coming from in from I-90, it will be the first gate on the right (I think it's the west gate, but can't remember for sure) - you will need to go the the visitor's center before you can get on base, however,  so getting there the day before - before 3:00pm, is always best.  What week is he in?  We had no clue on anything until around week five - if I remember correctly.  It's been several months since I had to deal with all of that!  lol   (My son graduated in January - he's a Reservist based at Kings Bay, Ga)

Thank you MA's mom and proud of it. Do you know when we will know what gate etc., we will have to go through. My son still does not know anything.

NavyMom - My son's paperwork got "lost" in the shuffle, after he left SA, but they emailed him the form to print out, sign and then fax or email back.  It's best if they can do it before they leave, though.  And it usually takes about 60 days (Or 90 - can't remember exactly) before they will see the money.

CINCINNATI MOM - Graduation usually starts around 9:00 AM, and you can get there as early as you want - but they do have a "last day drill" in the morning (I believe it starts at 6:00 or 7:00 AM), then they will head to the hall for graduation instructions and the ceremony.

Does anybody know what time the graduation starts on June 10th in SA for MA's and what time you need to get to the base.

Thanks

Hi, My daughter was in the 4/8 PIR group from Great Lakes.  She is graduating this coming Friday 06/03/11.  She claims that she has to fill out the forms for her sign on bonus at her Reservists base back home.  I know that I have read on N4M's that they have to have that form filled out before they leave SA.  She was going to ask someone again, but I've heard that if that form isn't filled out before you leave SA, she will really have a hard time getting that sign on bonus.  Can anyone shed any light on this subject?  She doesn't have much time left in SA.

Yep he can  or will have to live on base and can  eat in the chow hall ... that comes out of his pay the chow hall  just like it does right now while they are in school  plus  once hes in Hawaii  he might  just want to stay on base it is SOOOOOOOOO expensive there LOL ...  so glad you got to see him  :)

Single Sailors usually have to have attained E-4 to be able to live off base and get the housing allowance.  It also says 4 years in as well, but if there is a crowding issue in the barracks, that may be  waived once E-4 is attained and the paperwork is approved.
