kt - They are supposed to hear today and I am waiting also. Stateside orders for this class grad May 6th is the word. That can change any moment...

Sherrys - they typically get 2 weeks liberty after graduation. That too is always subject to change...

My son completes A school on the 22, still has not heard when they will get to come home before the first assignment. Has anyone heard this info. from their sailor? I have a week I'm suppose to be gone during the month of May. Trying to decide if I need to call and cancel these plans. This waiting is so hard!

NavyMomofOnly1Girl,

I think your daughter must be my step daughter's roomate.  She told me last night that her roomate is from New York.  Are your daughter's initails SM?

My daughter is the girl that vski is referring to that is an MA in San Antonio...Her roommate is from West Virginia.  There was actually 6 or 7 girl MA's that ended up going to San Antonio from the 4/8 PIR that we found at the airport when we were waiting for her plane to leave on Saturday.

My step daughter was selected to be in the recruit choir.  She performed at 3 other graduations and hers.  The 900 divisions are the performers at graduation (drill team, flag carriers, etc.)  There is also a Navy band and that is their full time job but she was a recruit.  Yes she is in the MA program in SA.  I will ask her where her roomate is from.  I think there were only 6 or 7 from PIR 04/08/11 going to MA school in SA.  Maybe they are the only 2 females then!

My daughter was ship 9 DIV 126.  My daughter said the chior and band is what their jobs are in the Navy.  Maybe that is not correct.  We are from Albany, NY.  So your step daughter is in the choir and the MA program in SA?

NavyMomof Only1Girl,

Mine left on Saturday too.  I am wondering if your daughter is my step-daughter's roommate.  Mine also just graduated 04/08/11, Ship 2 Div 920.  She was in the choir.  I will have to check and see if they are roomates.  What state are you from?  I am looking forward to the next chapter!

I can tell already that I have a lot to learn about MA school.  My daughter graduated from GL boot camp PIR date 4/8/11.  Just this past weekend.  She looked great! She shipped out on Saturday the 9th, though we were originally supposed to be able to spend weekend graduation with her and she wasn't going to go until Monday.  The good thing about having such a short amount of time with her after graduation was that we were able to give her her laptop and cell phone at the airport!  But, we only had Friday night for dinner and had to be at O'Hara by 5 a.m. Saturday morning.  It was like, we just did this and said good bye.  We enjoyed every minute with her.  Hopefully seven weeks will go by fast.  She is in the Reserves.  Where is Bahrain?
