TCarp0328, Cathy is right, mail is the most important time of the day for them, I wrote every day and numbered them, is case they didn't get them in order, My daughter was thrilled. I am also writing my nephew and he said the same thing, that mail time is the best.

TCarp0328, I copied the break down week by week (above) and mailed it to my daughter. A lot of helpful info in it for them. I highlighted the important areas so they didn't have to waste any time.

Congradulations jdmom on your son's graduation Friday. HOOYAH!

Should I take my sons Birth certificate with me to his PIR on Friday? Can he bring it back to BC? He never mentioned needing it before. I thought the Navy had all this already.

I just got a call from him after he completed BS and asked me if he will stay in a hotel for MA school in San Antonio or do they stay in a barracks. I knew he would have a room mate (from what I read here) but couldn't answer the housing situation. He'll find out next week but I was just curious.

Also, I read something about how expensive internet service is there and there was a more reasonable way. Any info on this? Thanks all

Miranda'sMom, My son was nominated for the PRP program also...I'm still not sure, I googled it and it has something to do with nuclear weapons??? He said if they get in they would be on lock down for two weeks out of the month and it's for two years...if you find out more let me know...

Brad passed OC spray :))) Congrats to all who passed and made it through. I'm glad it's over but I felt so bad for him (as a mom and a medic) I felt a double wammy. He called me and sent a pic, ouch!!! I sent a bottle of baby shampoo, but my son said they used all they had at the decon field and still did not have enough, and this is all they are allowed to use. TIP: Send at least 2 big bottles, and tell your sailor to keep 1 of those bottles in his room to use when he/she returns and he/she can take the other(s) to the field to use there. I felt soo bad that he did'nt have any more to use for his shower, etc. Also send some type of anti-immflamatory (motin), does not help so much with the pain as it does the swelling. Another thing to think of is maybe sending them a face cold pack that they can keep in the fridge and use afterwards.
