Hi
Frustrated! I sent a box to my son insured and priority mail that should have gotten there by Tuesday of last week. It has still not arrived and my poor son is really bummed out. Has anyone encountered any problems with sending out boxes? Has anyone shipped out things any electronics? Any feedback, hints, tips or similiar situations to help prompt this matter. Right now, we have an open investigation with USPS and we have to check every day with them after 21 days we have to file a claim. At this point, we just want the item to be found! Ugh

Hi ladies! Just thought i'd stop by and see how everyone is doing! My husband graduated A school Apr 30th. We are stationed at an AFB in Northern CA. When we were waiting for orders we thought we would for sure be heading to WA or VA then they told us we would be at an AFB in CA...big suprise!! lol. We love it up here thought, only 7 1/2 hours away from home so it was a good transition as our first duty station. I've made lots of new friends, not much Navy here, but the AF wives have been really nice : ) And I even found a full time job. Let me know if any of you are being stationed up here, i'd love to meet some more Navy families!!

Linda - Your son will most likely be getting OC sprayed this coming Friday, so if you have his address send him some baby shampoo and an anti-inflammatory like Aleve. If he takes the Aleve before he gets sprayed and has the baby shampoo ready to go in his room for when he gets back, it should help the horrible burn! My husband is in week three of A School and he's told me lots of details so feel free to ask anything! All the ladies on here are EXTREMELY helpful.

Hi everyone. The Pinning Ceremony was really wonderful. It was worth the trip..my husband pinned my son's shield on his dress whites...very special moment. Carolinagirl..my son found out about his orders in his fourth week at MA school..he did have a few choices and he choose Bahrain..the debt ratio thing sounds right...I believe my son told me that if your debt ratio is too high the navy tries to keep you state side....some of the other young men and women were going to Guam..Guantanamo Bay, Greece, Washington state, Virginia, San Diego...Nebraska...three were going to Bahrain. What a wonderful group of men and women both the grads and the instructors. I am very proud of our US NAVY!!!

Hi Ladies, My son reached San Antonio a week ago on 8/1 and starts classes this week. I hope to learn a lot from you as my son is the quiet sort. Thanks for the breakdown week by week. It helps to know what he is going through.

Hello jonnycatone our Son is in Guam for almost a month and is loving it. We paid extra so he did not have to fly back to San Antonia from Seattle. The travel agent the Navy uses was very helpful. Our verizon driod phone is working great and we have learned some tips about Guam living that helped us. Some locals have even took our Son to church! They seem to love our Sailors and they love to eat and have BBQ's

Man!! I wanted to go to a pinning all summer! My son finished A school in Virginia not San Antonio. I'll be back at work on 6/13.
Sorry!! I do live about an hour and a half from both Houston airports and about 4 or 5 hours from San Antonio if anyone is interested in a road trip.

My son became a MA last Friday July 30. He had orders about 2 weeks before and was give a choice of where to go -- he choose Guam. He has 2 weeks of vacation coming but he could not leave the San Antonio area until he had his plane itinerary. He got that Tuesday and he Flew to Anchorage but he did not ask for the full two weeks vaction so he is flying back to San Antonio this Sat. and then he flys out Monday the 9th for Guam.

trashline27 - I've seen a lot of moms on here that say there sons have been sent to Bahrain. My son will graduate from A school on 9/3. Waiting to see what his assignment will be. Is it fairly common to be sent to Bahrain? How long are his orders for? Still new to the navy thing and worry about where my son may go. Although since he is divorced with 2 small boys and paying child support, he says that his income to debt ratio is too high for him to be sent overseas. If anyone has any info on that, I would love it if you would share.
Also wondering how soon you know about their assignments and if it is enough time to plan a trip to the pinning ceremony. Don't know if my husband and I can both make it. We have considered driving but it's about 18 hours from Florida and would love to try to find a cheap airline ticket.
