Trashline~ I am going to Josh pinning ceremony, however he was held back 3 weeks in BC so his is at the end of August. I am very happy for your son and you that you guys have made it through this part of his Navy training. I will move with my husband where ever he goes (if I can), but I hadn't prepaired myself for it since I thought we were stationed here.
When will you know if your son is in holding? The waiting game has gotten harder for me over the last few weeks and I'm normally a very patient person. Will you be in San Antonio for the whole weekend? Maybe you can stay a few extra days while he's on hold there. You can get a room for $30 on base if he rents it for you. Good luck to you both and be sure to keep me updated.

My husband told me that apparently Navy MA's are the MAIN security for the military so they might be still be needed somewhere like an AFB. They are the main ones that the branches of the military depend on to keep everything in order and secure. So that should make us wives and moms feel proud!! :)

Well joshswife nothing is set in stone. My son doesn't really contact me all that much either, but he said he was going to Japan, but then got his papers and he will be going to a AFB in California. I hope that his orders stay for Carswell, for you. we are here for each other so it is always nice to vent, bcuz we know that someone will be there....
Can anyone answer why a Navy MA would be stationed at a AFB????

Have any of you ladies checked out bandsforarms.com? It's a site that takes old donated service uniforms and turns them into braclets. 70% of their funds go directly to the USO. The USO helps to keep our Sailors in communication with us while away from home at no cost to them or us. Please take a look at their site and order your bracelet today. I have ordered 3 and have 3 more on the way. They have several made from Navy uniforms (and other branches). bandsforarms.com

Ladies~ I am having 2 issues at the moment and I just thought I'd vent them to ya.
1) My husband just mentioned to me that he would get his orders next Wensday. In his sign on papers it said he would be base Carswell (the base near us) for the first year. Now I always hear people say the Navy will send you where they need you, but I thought the papers were set in stone. Now Josh is telling me that he'll know for sure on Wensday and he'll more than likely be here, but not 100%. Why have those stinking papers?!?!? I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't have to move right away. I just paid our children's tuition for school for this coming year which means we would not move for atleast a year (that money is non refundable and a big chunk of change).
2) My husband has not had class all day and hasn't called me since noon. I know he's busy and tired, but I just want a quick 10 minute call or text. For the most part I let him do his thing, but I know the calls will not always be able to happen so I want to talk all we can while we can.
Huh, thanks I feel better and I'm hoping he call before bed. Love you ladies and good night.

JDmom - thanks for accepting me...lol, I like the fact that I can return the favor from the moms before me. You can add me as a friend if you like.

Carolinagirl - I understand your situation completely as I miss my son too and that he's not great about telling us what is going on either. I have to constantly ask him what is going on otherwise I am clueless and in the dark about what is going on. I have a great instance as I will have to ask him to find out his orders. Unlike you wanting your son close to you , my son thinks he might be going to Japan and that will be for 3 years. I know he is a man know but it is hard for us moms to let go of our precious cargo. If you have any questions feel free to ask as we are all here for one another.

Welcome aboard to the new MA moms, wives and girlfriends!!!!
