Carolinagirl~ I know the feeling of the PIR group. I love my ladies and no one else had an MA. I keep in touch with a few of them, we message from time to time. But those women become your closest friends and someone who really understands what you're going through. My husband is not in your sons class, I think he's a week before. But his room mate is in that class and I know a few of the other guys. His gf is on this site her name is sinden10, you might try looking her up. However, none of us wives know what you moms are going through. I couldn't imagaine letting my baby go and not knowing what's going on. Thank you for supporting your son in his decision. Where do you live? If it makes you feel any better my husband got station in our home town so it can happen. If you need any help or have any questions I'm all yours.

Hi Ladies - My son is at A school in San Antonio. He got his OC spray on 7/23 and is supposed to graduate on 9/3. He got to Lackland on 7/7 and I believe he stared classes on 7/11 or 7/12. Don't know if there are any of you that have sailors in his group or not. I miss my PIR group. We had all gotten close and agreed to keep in touch but no one else had a sailor going to TX to be an MA so there isn't a lot to talk about. I miss my son so much and worry about him. I like being able to talk to him more since he has his laptop and cell phone but I still worry. He's not great about telling us what is going on. I know that he will have his orders in about 10 days and I pray that he will go somewhere close by but I don't count on it. There are 3 bases within 1 hour of where we live but I have begun to accept the fact that he will probably not be anywhere near us. I hope to be able to connect with someone that has a sailor close to mine.

Matthewswife~ Ok on the situation of where to stay... if you can get on base you can stay at The Inns of Lacklands their number is 2106736930 and rooms run around $32 a night. As far as the marriage license he should apply for it now I've heard it could take upto a week to get it approved. Once it's approved you can get a paper from the court house for him to sign so you can get the license without him and you can get the 3 day waiting waved. I have a friend going through the same thing as you right now. She's on here, her name is Sinden10 ...you should look her up. Maybe she can give you more info.
Hope I helped a bit.

thanks for info proud mom still my savior.
Matthewswife, my sailor actually was cancelled, but he got a flight out that night at 6pm. and that's funny because you probably did see me yesterday. I got there after turning in rental around 10:45 and waited til 1pm for my flight.

Yeah it sounds like we can get that 3-day period waived, according to the JOP. I think he's going to stop by the office on base tomorrow to get all the paperwork that we need.

Matthewswife, Has your Sailor already put the chit through so he can get married? See if you can get the 3 day waiting period for the license waived (active military can often do that).

Oh thanks that's very helpful! I sent her a message. I'm so clueless about all of this haha.
