For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

But I have a question. I can't go to PIR, I'll be traveling, to of all places, TX!!. I want to see her there and am wondering, does anyone know how I can arrange to meet up with her on Sunday. Will she be staying on base until she can present her orders? Can I get on base and have her called to meet me at one of the buildings there?

Navyvetwife48, does your Sailor have her cell phone? If so, she can make calls when not on duty or in class and she won't be on duty yet. If she has her cell phone, call her. If she doesn't have her cell phone, then she may not have discovered the pay phones.

Hi I would like to know how long does it take for San Antonio MA to process new Sailors, so that the Sailor's can call home? My daughter graduated 4/03 and left yesterday "Saturday", are there any restrictions where they cannot call home, I'm looking for a phone call from her? any information I would be grateful to receive, Thank You so much

My son has a completely clean record. There is nothing negative as far as credit, criminal, drugs, etc. He found out because of his medical waiver, he would not be eligible for the PRP program. I am confused as to whether he has his clearance, but does not have the clearance needed for PRP. My son seems to think he doesn't have his clearance at all, but it would seem to me that he would have something if he finished boot and then classed up in A school if he didn't at least have the clearance needed to do the job. Am I wrong to think that?
