Cindy, I chat on FB all the time with a young Sailor in Atsugi. Are you on FB? I can connect you with him. He probably won't mind chatting.

Mel and Nic's Wife...My son just graduated from "A" School on March 19th. He was PRP qualified but there were no billets open for PRP's for his class. When they received the billets that were available it was actually a lot of good billets. Some were Guam and Japan but there were a lot in the States including quite a few in Virginia. My son was excited because he was in the top 8 of his class but when it came time to choose billets, PRP qualified guys could only choose certain billets. My son really wanted Virginia and fortunately 1 billet for Virginia was open for PRP qualified and since he was near the top of the class he was able to get it. So try not to worry too much until the billets actually get posted and they guys choose. Until then you will hear lots of rumors...that's what happened with my son.

Also, a heads up. I know you are looking forward to your guys coming home on leave right after graduation. They can not leave San Antonio until they have their itinerary even if they are not using it. Unless something has changed since the other week, they are behind in getting some of the guys their itinerieries. We were lucky and my son got his the day he graduated but about half his class did not and so could not leave to go home right after graduation. In fact, the last my son heard from his good friend, he's still in San Antonio waiting on his itinerary.

Eric says no matter what, sometime in his navy career (plans on becomng a lifer) he will end up in Bahrain..I just hope it's when he's a petty officer so I can go too! Don't care where I get stationed as long as I can be with him! I'm going to TX this weekend!! suuuper excited! i will let you all know how it goes! i'm staying on base too...wonder if I can take pictures of the hotel? then you guys could see what it looks like and if it's somewhere you would wanna stay.

Tina, they may not leave GL for a few days. Is that what you are talking about?

Nic's wife - I see you are really concerned about Bahrain! I would be also! When my son was in A school (two year anniversary on April 15) - he heard Bahrain all the time also! Then he had orders to Guam! Never went - then orders to Portsmouth!! Since then he has been to Kuwait (oil platforms in Persian Gulf). Right now - he is wondering around Spain, Sicily (eating spaghetti carbonara), Djoubti, Kenya, Seychelles and I forget where else!

You never know until it happens with the Navy!! Hard to make plans!
