Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

So is that unusual to find out the first day that's what he's been chosen for? I thought they found out around the 4th week. Is this a good thing? How can I find out more about PRP's?

Sheila-Proud Mom of MAA...My son just got to San Antonio and started class yessterday. He should get his cell phone today but I noticed after he called me last night he posted a message on Facebook that he was going to be PRP after A School. Can you or someone else help me...what does that mean? How could he have found that out so quickly? Where will he go from San Antonio?

NO ORDERS today :( They do have the orders but said they will not hand them out until Wednesday, but it's all good!!! I've waited this long, what's 2 more days??!! LOL

Welcome. It can be anywhere from the next day as it was for my sailor to 2 weeks or more for a class to form. (Sorry guys, I can't seem to spell tonight and erased this a couple of times.)

my boyfriends name is Patrick Denault. He keeps calling me off of the cell phones of the guys hes rooming with (he's probablly called me over 6 times today!). He said hes rooming with two other guys.

Char Ship10/Div067 PIR Jan 29, my boyfriend also had PIRon the 29th and is in Texas for the MA. I know he said the group of them that went wasnt too big so maybe they know eachother?
