Will our son be able to fly on the same flight back home with us after A school graduation? He comes home 2 weeks and then is going to Cuba. Does anyone know how we can work this out?

We stayed at the Best Western close to base. Lovely people & place. Isn't there a link on this page about graduation; where to stay, where not to go?!

Are there any hotel and car rental discounts for A school graduation like there were for PIR?

Bubweena - I stayed at the Best Western on the 410 Loop - It's called Ingram Park Inn.  Only about 5 miles from Base.  I agree with Amazonannie - cabs are super expensive there.  The airport is super easy to get to and from the base as well (as far as renting a car).  The 410 loop is easy to navigate after you get there.

Can anyone tell me if the graduation is in or outside? Do we have to put on a list by our Sailor like at PIR. I am flying down but not renting a car because I freak out driving in unfamiliar places so will just take taxi's. I am going to assume like at PIR there are some Taxi's that have permission to drive on base. My son's fiance flew diwn last week and had a heck if a time getting on base even though my son had put in the request and I think got a "chit" for her.
By the way my son got Guam. They get to chose in order of their standing in the class. Except of course if they are PRP or Riverine. Then he said the married guys got to have first choice if any state side stations and then the Sailors whise clearance has not come back yet or if it was bad because if credit issues and they can't leave the states. At least this is how my son explained it. So even though he got slated to pick 10th, it was all overseas somewhere by the time all those others went through.
So back to graduation, is it a dress up affair like PIR? Thank God it should atleast be warm. I have never been more cold than I was at PIR. I wish they had a sarge down there.
Huskerfan where did you stay? You said it was close, what was the name of the hotel. I don't want to spend a fortune on cab rides.
Thanks

Orders are up. My son is headed to Bahrain.

My son receieved his orders last week. They do get to choose from 2 or 3 different choices. My son will be going to Cuba. He's not sure for how long yet, he will get more detailed orders in a week or so.

My son went through it yesterday also! And he also said it was worse than he had anticipated! I am happy that part is over! Do they really get their orders this soon? Do they get a choice of stations?
