Christina, once he completes INDOC, he will be able to go off base with you if he is not on duty.

My sons PIR is Friday 1/31 and then he heads to Lackland. So it sounds like he will have a wait before being classes up? When they at waiting are they able to leave base on weekends for a while to spend time with us if we visit?

Well my son made it to Lackland for MA A School. He doesn't start until Feb 10 but that is just an estimate. But I read a post from a mom who said her son got down there last week and his start date isn't until Feb 24th. My son got engaged last summer and we set the day for May 3rd. We had been told by the recruiter that he would probably go to BC no later than October so we thought we were fine. Well he didn't start until Dec 3rd. I am getting worried. We have everything done except printing the invitations. The thought of having to cancel everything at last minute and reschedule everything makes me sick. I know our venue is pretty much booked for the whole summer. Urgh.

navmomkim, some have flown out of O'Hare and some out of Midway. It all depends on flight availability. There is info on that in Break down week by week.

Navmomkim, all the MA's from my son's group left from O'Hare. But I am not sure if that is always the case

Can anyone tell me which airport they flew out of from Great Lakes to A-school?  I am hoping to see a pattern & book our flight home from graduation at teh airport where our sailor will depart from for a-school.  we'll hope for the best

Huskies, only your Sailor will know his flight details. See Break down week by week and PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend for more on that.

My son will be going to San Antonio for A school. Does anyone know what airport and time their flight might be?

I have updated  Break down week by week again in response to additional comments. Please check it out and if you are aware of any additional changes that need to be made, please let me know. I want to keep it as current as possible and include the information that most people want to know and yet maintain OPSEC.

It's an MA but it's the Personnel Reliability Program position. They are stationed at Kings Bay GA or Whidbey Island WA
