Iheartmysailor, if he has verizon it will work, you might have to change your plan for cost but verizon is in Bahrain.

My Fiancé found out his duty station will be in Bahrain. Anyone know if his iphone will work there or will he need to buy a new phone there? His A school graduation should be around Jan 17th.
I'm bummed but I accepted this Navy life and will support him. Anyone else going to Bahrain?

It may be the Leave papers that indicate where he is to report when Leave is over.

Comment by lemonelephant on November 27, 2013 at 1:25am

Victor's Mom, if his orders indicate that he is to report to VA from Leave then he needs to have his flight from San Antonio to your local airport and then the next flight to VA. If his orders indicate that he is to return to San Antonio, then he needs round trip tickets.

My Sailor was to return to San Antonio and then he got a call while he was on Leave to go to VA instead, but the cost of changing the ticket was outrageous so he was permitted to return to San Antonio and leave from there as his orders stated.

Hi Ladies~

I am waiting to see how my son is going to make it home for Christmas after graduation.  Does he need a one way ticket home or round trip?  He needs to report in Virginia to get to Sicily after liberty leave, and we live in CA, so how does that work? Any ideas??

Thanks :)

Calikay-Lemoore would be fine if not SD at least it's driving distance but overseas would be difficult but I am still praying he gets SD. Congrats on No Cali, I think I would be very happy if he gets any choices in Cali. I appreciate all the feedbacks and prayers. I hope he passes his tests and that OC spray goes well...
Thank you all :)

Thanks, very hard to deal with. Love them both so much and want the best for them and if the military is where they feel they need to be then that is ok with me. That makes me a proud momma!!

Yes, I feel how it is very difficult having them away.  Just something us moms have to deal with…and it is very hard.

Yes, Calikay, my son is very excited about going overseas. He has always wanted to travel and especially see the Orient, so Japan is very exciting for him. We have done a lot of traveling as a family and my Dad was AF, so I lived on Okinawa as a kid and lots of other places. We have also lived in Cal. and love it there. Your son will get to go overseas, they all have to do one off shore duty and a lot of places count as off shore for MA's since they aren't usually on ships.
