The reduced rate for the Flat Rate boxes only applies to boxes sent to APO or FPO or DPO addresses. You will pay the regular flat rate for boxes sent to "A" School. Free USPS Packaging for Family and Friends of Service Members includes the info also. Sometimes it is cheaper to send things in a regular box instead of the Flat Rate box. The postal workers can help you decide which is best.

Good Morning, I am also new to this group my Son graduated on 11/1 and is now settled in and ready to begin his MA schooling.  He has already requested his computer to be shipped - just awaiting his address.  Is there anything else I should send him these first few weeks?

Morning! You can call for "If It Fits, It Ships" Military Care Kits from the USPS at 1-800-610-8734 & they will deliver it to your home address! I've used them, exclusively, the last 3 + years to get things to my MA. Even in the "sandbox" of Bahrain. The kit includes; several size boxes, customs forms w/sleeve protectors, tape & address forms. You also get a buck or two off on Military addresses!

Hi JenJen. Definitely check the address in the link lemonelephant gave you. I shipped a couple of boxes to my son on Saturday and he got them on Monday. Doesn't take long at all and the Priority flat rate boxes at the PO are free of charge.

Good morning! I'm new to this group....my SA just graduated from Great Lakes November 1st. He wasn't sure they were allowed to take their phones so he left for A school without it. We still haven't heard from him since we got home from Great Lakes yesterday. I'm hoping a buddy will let him borrow a phone so He can call home and i can get the address where to mail his phone and other things. I'm glad to be a part of this group!

So, my daughter has DOR'd from the MA program.  Now she'll be undesignated (?) for a year and then talk to a career counselor to see what rating she actually wants.  Do any of the experienced moms have any advice for me?  I have told her that whatever she decides is her decision and I love her and support her no matter what. I don't even know what group I'll be able to join, maybe once she gets her orders and I know where she's going I'll find a group.  Help!
