Amazonannie, I finally got the name of the street the barracks are on. It is Arnold Circle. I'm so sorry it took so long. I hope these are close to the places you are staying. We took the base bus all over, but I got really turned around in my head and couldn't tell you if those places were close or not, lol. I hope you have a fun trip!
Yes and he is being kept quite busy while in holding!! :)
It's good to see that they are back to one week in Holding.
Mine classes up on the 21st, Monday. He just got there Saturday night the 12th.
My son, who arrived in SA last Monday, says he classes up on this Tuesday. Any others?
We live about 1 1/2 hours away so we didn't stay on base it was just a day trip. We're thinking about going to the Mexican Market, which I'm sure is serviced by the bus system. If my sailor wants to pay for a cab, then I'll let her, otherwise we can take the bus. I'll check the street name again this weekend when I go, I don't remember it off the top of my head. I'll let you know if I find out sooner :)
I got to go visit my daughter this past Saturday at Lackland. She says they no longer do Phase III liberty at all (Heaven forbid she find out why). She was supposed to graduate Nov. 8th, but since she didn't pass the weapons test on Friday that is delayed by a week. They have already been OC sprayed and picked their postings for after A school. The base is huge and has a bus system that stops about every 15-30 minutes at a multitude of places. There is no riding in a private vehicle at all, so we took the bus all around the base and this Saturday we'll take a taxi to go off base. She gave me a long list of things to bring her, I hope she has room for it all. That's all for now, have a blessed day!
Phase III at other "A" Schools is obtained after 4 full weeks in Phase II, but it has been after 2 full weeks at Lackland. There may have been a change in command and/or a realignment of standards at the "A" Schools that has resulted in the change to be in line with what happens at all of the other "A" Schools. This has happened before. If it has changed to 4 full weeks in Phase II, Phase III would be obtained near the end of "A" School and the Sailor would fly out before being able to use the new privileges granted by being in Phase III unless the Sailor were to remain in Holding after graduation, which is a rare event, but does happen every now and then if there is a problem with orders or a security clearance. Some who are in holding a week or two may be able to obtain Phase III a week or so before graduation. See the info on page 3 of Break down week by week.
Amazonannie has indicated that there is no longer a Phase III at "A" School for MA's. If anyone else has info on that, please comment within Break down week by week so I can update the info. Thanks
