My son graduates the Monday before. That must be their normal day.

My son who has been in the Navy for about 18 months now, the Navy offered him a rate change to MAA. His orders take him to Lackland for A school, on Monday Oct 7th and then gradulation is set for Monday November 25th. I know that week is Thanksgiving week, is that why gradulation is on a Monday instead of the normal Friday. Anybody else ever here of this?

Can anyone tell me if there is lodging available on base for the MA pining ceremony? If so how do you go about reserving? I would like to attend my sons pinning in November but I am disabled and do not drive. I need be able to make this as accessible as possible with travel.

sglen, I hope your Sailor has been to medical about the pneumonia and is getting it addressed.

If your Sailor doesn't have a cell phone, he will have to borrow one to make a call (most Sailors are good about helping out thier shipmates) or use a pay phone until he buys a cell phone or receives his in the mail from you.

Yea, haven't heard anything either. He hasn't go his phone yet. He told me he has been dealing with pneumonia so that is a worry.

tashaalexiona, from now on your Sailor decides who and when to call unless he is in class or on duty. It can be a bit interesting the first few days as the new Sailor gets used to new freedoms and a new place.
