Folks, let's all remember that a lot is lost in the translation when we are reading written posts.  The nuances of facial expressions and body language are all missing. It's easy to interpret criticism when it definitely was not intended. Nobody is "grading" anyone here; the intent of this site is to support each other and share important information. And there is nothing wrong with good natured ribbing, either.  Let's all remember that and give each other the benefit of the doubt.  Be kind.

My son will be heading to SA for A school Saturday and need all the guidance from everyone on what goes on and what support the family can give.

We are all here for support and guidance from the experienced ones. I assumed since I grouped it with baby shampoo, dawn and getting sprayed you would have understood I meant visine. I apologize for hurting your feelings.

You do just great.

Sometimes tensions run high, nerves on edge. What seems like a simple comment to us can trip a switch in someone else. Reading something typed lacks the personal contact a face to face has where you can read expressions, see emotions & know that the person "speaking" really cares. Even for a complete stranger & their loved one.

chriscwick, thanks for that. I think that this just proves to me that for my feelings to be hurt that I must not be handling everything as well as I want to think I am.

(((((hug))))) for anyone needing one.

Take a breath y'all, please. Shall we regroup & start again. Emotions run high, we are here for a reason, please remember.

Lemonelephant has been & hopefully continues to be wonderful source. With OC spray, which is very painful no matter what you do, I feel she just wanted clarity for this significant trial for your sailors to keep them safe & as comfortable as they can be.

Mine's gotten it several times in his soon to be four year career as MAA. He prefers tear gas, with which he got nailed as collateral damage from the many often violent protests in Bahrain. He says it's a breeze compared to OC. Even with remedies it takes him almost three days to recover completely. He felt like home made dirt.

Lemonelephant, if I've never been verbal with my thanks, let me do so now. Thanks for your info, insight & support. Feel better soon.
