Seeing the OC spray comment below... Her class gets sprayed on Friday, since Monday is a holiday.  She has her baby shampoo and I have advised her to make she she has her yogurt handy!

My daughter was in class yesterday when [another chief - not the instructor] came into the class.  He started chatting w/her and during the conversation he learned that she speaks French and Spanish and told her she needed to take [some] test. If she makes at least an 80 it is an immediate pay raise per each language... He also said that she would have a really good chance at being stationed at one of the embassies... Does anyone know anything about that... (Of course, he also encouraged her to learn arabic! - I'm thinking let's get the 80% on both tests before we get too concerned over another language! Geez!)

my face burned only for about an hour. During the day you can have reflash which is like getting sprayed again. I took a shower when i got back to the barracks and reflashed once. after that nothing happened.

OC is like pepper spray.  It is not a pleasant experience and the effects last the full day and then some from what I understand.

MA Chris PIRd, left the next day for MA school @ Lackland. After "A" school he got 14 days leave prior to deploying to Bahrain.

CUPCAKE - Chris entered the NAVY in February of 2010, went to Bahrain in June of the same year. A lot happened in a very short span of time for us. Chris liked his job as an MA, but loves at he'll be a MA MWD Handler! He sort of fell into the Kennel while hunting something to keep him busy. He doesn't do bored well. The powers that be tapped him to get dog school, which was his wish after spending free time there & being assigned later as Kennel Support. He may have already or will soon meet his first MWD, Bubba, of his very own. Wheeeeeeeee!

asterzmom, my daughter is doing very well.  At first she didn't pass the pistol qualification but then retook the test and was a couple of points below sharpshooter.  She is really enjoying the training.  I am not able to attend graduation.  My daughter has a 3 year old I'm taking care of and its a 20 hour drive for us.  But my daughter joined the reserves so she will be home June 9th and continuing college in the fall.  We know another female sailor that went to Italy and she really enjoyed it.  Have fun at graduation, I wish I could be there.
