Thanks i really liked clearing the building out. chriscwick- how long has your son been in?? and i hated OC too :)
asterzmom, no that is not the norm, but it does happen once in a while depending on the needs of the Navy. I know of a Sailor whose family went down for graduation and spent the weekend in SA and then he flew out early the next week to the same duty station as my son who did have leave. I think they asked for volunteers for the early departure, but I really don't recall the particulars.
A school is so much better, but i still think boot camp had some good food than A school :)
tomorrow is oc day for my salior, oh what fun that should be.
GOOD MORING EVERYBODY!! ....it has been a while... my baby girl is going to Italy.... my daughter said that they got eary to get on a bus and do a diabetes fundraiser.... I think that is awsome that they actually do things like that.... It means alot right now, we just found out that one of the SRs that was in boot camp with my daughter is being dicharged do to the fact she has been diagnosed with it
lemonelephant- my daughter has told me that she may not get to come home after graduation and that she may fly straight out the very next day... do you know if this is the norm...
misschloe- my daughter has passed all the shooting test, and she did mention that they were in some kind of lock down at the barracks due to storms... how is your sailor and are you looking forward to the upcoming graduation as I am?... I will be going down for the week of graduation to spend time with my daughter due to the fact that she may not get to come home the sad part is if she doesn't get to come home my husband will not get to see her before she leave... :'( ... any news about where your sailor is going and if they get to come home?
chriscwick- congrates on your sailor and thanks so much for sharing it meant a lot to me I love reading bout everyone's experiences.... I will keep you, your family and your son in my prayers.
laurie- my daughter flew out of MDW she was one of the first to arrive (2 am) she left on the first flight out that morning...we had called the day before to the USO at the airport (at OHARE) and we were told we that do to to many going at one time we would not be able to spend time with them or go back to the plane area.... I highly recomend that no matter what you are told that you GO! to see them off ... we were able to stay with her the entire time MDW and I know of others who went to OHARE and got to stay with their SRs also.... It is totally worth the chance
ct sailor- thank you for your info it is really helpful I have an upcoming trip.
