NAS North island, Navy Lodge. Has nice, non crowded rooms right on the beach, best prices in the SD. Have your son book you a room. their# is 619.435.0191

Hello all,  my son is headed to San Diego in Feb. ...then to Bahrain.  I plan on visiting before he leaves SD.  Where is a good place to stay?

alohagirlin ca - Son is NAS North Island.  Apartment in Imperial Beach.  They just spent their first night there last night, so they are in a sea of boxes but very excited to get their life in order.

Marmee, my son is currently on the boxer as an fc.  He is cross rating to legalman and will be away for a new school.  They own a house close by and his wife has a new job with a Japanese restaurant in the area.  We are visiting this month.

thank you AlohagirlinCA - I was an aloha girl with the AF at Hickam in the 80's.  Best assignment we ever had.  Lived in Waipahu.  Son just called and don't know base, just that he is in a hanger with C-2 Greyhounds.  They are looking at new apt options in Imperial Beach because the first choice was a bust.  Wife arrives on Monday, and they have 3 new places to see.  Hopefully they will get it set quickly - before household goods arrive.  Please feel free to friend me on facebook, or e-mail me at marmee4@hotmail.com and we can connect for future assistance.  Really appreciate your offer and would love to take you up on it.

Kim, thanks for the welcome.  He is an AZ E-3.  I have no idea about ship.  His plane landed at 11:40 EST last night and he reported to base today.  Hopefully will know more this weekend.  His wife arrives 12/31 - so they will get to celebrate New Years in their apartment (sans furniture).  They will be living in Imperial Beach.  Anyone know anything about that area?

Welcome marmee.  What ship will your sailor be on?  What rate?

My son was in Japan for 3 years and that is a very busy group.  The site for his San Diego ship was only busy when they where deployed.  They posted more on facebook.

signing up for a couple of the San Diego Mom/Parent sites - hope we have a good group here that will give us lonely Moms a place to vent and to learn.  Guess we all got a bit spoiled with the BC Moms being so active.

Am I in the right place? Is this the board for those who have sailors in San Diego or is there another board I can't locate? TIA.
