Linda I see your daughter is a K-9 unit, Stephen has talked about wanting to do this. I hope they get a food allowance, I can't see that the food would come out of their own pockets. Janie

Janie, since when do our Navy guys and gals having to pay for their food? I have a boy in the Navy for the last 7 years and he has never said anything to me about having to ever pay for his food.

Thanks Cheryl. I just talked to Steve. He said after day 1, that it is much more relaxed than boot camp. I replied I doubt for long. He has 2 room mates and said the food was good, but I was surprised to find out he has to pay for it. Janie

Karyl, pray alot and take it one day at a time. It's hard, but remembering that this is what our kids want and how proud we are of them helps too. Plus, we turn to each other on this website for support and encouragement. Don't forget we are all here. Hang in there!

Thank you Linda for the info. I will pass it on to my son and take time to look at your pictures in your photo album. Sounds good and a beautiful place for him to be going to.

That is so awesome Kathy, that your sailor is going to be home to visit! Have a great time and enjoy every second.

Allen just got his phone call that he has been waiting for for almost 2 yrs. He is finally going to San Antonio, TX for 11 wks of K-9 Handler training school. Then he is going to be stationed in Diego Garcia. I am so proud and excited for him!!! He is so excited to be going too.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Welcome to our group, Anna! Of course you belong in our group. No matter what, Reserves or regular military, all Moms are welcome. We are here to listen and support. My best to you, your son & family. It isn't going to be easy, but we all appreciate his service to our country.
