Sometimes it gets a little slow on here. Yes, as the mom of a Cryptologic Technician (Technical)(CTT), you are welcome to add to and gain from (at times) this group since he would be involved with intercepting threats.

I would have to ask my son but I wouldn't think it would take that long. That seems like a very long time. My son was on hold in Great Lakes for almost 2 months but I do believe he had all of his clearances before he went to boot camp. I would think they would have done the same with your son. I will talk my son and see what he says and let you know. Have a great day!!!!!

Yeah Brenda, I can sorta help because my son does the same thing. Before he left the Navy sent a PI around to our neighborhood and asked the neighbors all kinds of questions. Then when he went to boot camp they were still asking and checking around about him. So don't worry everything will check out because my son had a underage drining 2 months before he left and they asked him about it when they got him in there. That is the only bad thing he ever did and they asked him if he would ever do it again and he told them no. For all they knew he was lying but he wasn't. He learned a lesson from that and then when he was in A school he had to go for a polygraph test too. They still asked him all kinds of questions, so your son is not out of the woods yet. My son has been in for 2 yrs this August and he really likes his job. He wanted Master of Arms and his eye sight would not let him in but he is happy with what he is doing. Although, he can't tell me much about it. People ask me all the time what he really does and I have no idea. I have general idea but not too much. I hope I helped you out a little bit.

Hi. I am new to this group. My son was reassigned to Offutt Air Force Base. He will be there for 3 years. Yes, it is closer to home so we will be able to visit more often. He jus arrived there yesterday. He is looking for an apartment and he seems to be having a problem finding one. Any help from other Moms in the same situation? This will be his first Shore Duty since joining the Navy 6 years ago. He just spent the last 2 years in Japan and he did like it but he wa ready to come home to the States for a while.

Joan, my son Allen graduated GL in Oct 07. I was blessed that he was home for his first Christmas in the Navy. He came home and that was a BIG "Kleenex moment" for me. I asked that he go to church with me on Christmas Eve and he did in full uniform. I was so proud and even to this day tear up thinking how blessed I was to have him home. I don't know when he will be home again for a Christmas.
I can't wait to visit Virginia Beach in April. I am going over Easter weekend. Enjoy your day also!
