Hello! Glad I found you all! Looking forward to graduation... now to plan the weekend. Rec'd letter a few days ago written on his bday, said his present was zone inspection! He's in good spirits, doing well except for a bout w/ cellulitis in his left knee and on bed rest for 2 days! and of course looking fwd to graduation! He also mentioned he and his gf (who's in oh) want to get married while in A school. Has anyone been in this situation? I'm supportive, but w/ reservations about the timing.

I received two letters from my son today. He was very upbeat. Did a lot of reflecting about Boot Camp,Talked about the upcoming week ( which was this week) gas chamber final PFA tests etc. He said he got a good score on Pistol.

He also hot a ribbon for  great shooting . He was not sure if it was an expert or a sharpshooter. He will find out. He is so excited because his wife will be able to move in with him at A school in the great lakes because of his length of schooling in advanced electronics. He said that will get a couples place. (whatever that is) He mentioned not writing letters to him after Feb. 10th.

He also said things are winding down and can't wait to call to say "I am a sailor". He said the call would come on Feb. 11th or 12th. Can't wait to hear those words.

Ladies, you all have been such a blessing to me in this journey. I thank you all for all your support and guidance. Especially you, Andria. You have been  so wonderful. Can't wait for our children to receive all our letters of encouragement for Battle Stations. We are on the countdown!!

Received a letter yesterday, also.  He says a lot of guys have strep throat and he developed a deep cough around the 17th of January, but thinks he finally is getting rid of it.  I am so relieved because he and my daughter are always the two of mine that seemed to get ear aches and strep!  Things are going great up there.  The division is sweeping up the flags and, shooting for the Hall of Fame.

Andria, your daughter has a good ear for quotes. I love it! Kind of hoping that my recruit went to chapel to hear it also!  Hope all went well with them today. It's getting close! I CAN'T WAIT! We even pulled suitcases down from the attic!!

Andia,

So glad you got a letter. My son's wife got the letter since she missed his call. We got the call and can't wait to hug our son and tell him how proud we are of him.

Your daughter's words are so true and so inspiring to us all.

You have a wonderful DAUGHTER!!!

Got a letter today !!! She never called on Saturday because she was at the medics for 4 hours !! Sore throat, feverish just like evryone else seems to be getting.....The RDC said he would let her call home on Sunday but of course, he showed authority and wouldn't let her...........At least I know I will talk to her after BS 21 !!!  C'mon 17th ! I can't wait to get on that plane and see her !

An' we ain't no sissies!! (It was very hard for me to write such a BAD sentence!)

I have already decided I am NOT going to work on Feb 11th. I have plans to clean out my recruits room, with my phone no more than 2 feet away from me at all times. I REFUSE to miss that call!!

This has been a "growing up" experience for us too, but I'm sure it doesn't compared to what they have done. I will be thinking of him all day tomorrow. I'll try to breath some clear air for him!!!

Got a letter today. It was the first time he didn't sound so positive and sounded kind of anxious to be finished. Said he "hopes the division doesn't get set back". I take it they are putting a lot of pressure on them. Said he felt like he had strep for 3 or 4 days- couldn't eat much, very painful to swallow. They gave him cough syrup (?) tylenol & cough lozengers, which he had gone through already. Letter was dated Sun 1/30 and he was finally starting to feel better. He's starting to think about what he wants us to bring up. THE END IS IN SIGHT (and he feels it!)
