FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ladies- storm is really bad up here!  Snow, sleet and incredible winds!!  Think I will be snowed in for awhile!!!

Caryn- We are used to this weather up here.  It will be cleaned up within 2 days.  

I also will not be able to make the meet and greet.  We pick up my AF son at 5am friday and are heading to hotel from o'hare, then catching the shuttle to PIR.

My daughter who lives in Manhattan is itching to get into Chicago. We'll see.

After all, it's all about the "Sailor".

Andria- We are used to the nasty cold...I hate winter, but my family is here and a job I love.  SOOO wish we were down south somewhere warmer or in Cali with my AF son...he says it is 72 there tonite!!!  Also recommend warm boots, gloves, and a scarf!

There is also a large mall in Gurnee that includes a pro bass shop (for the navy dads).  We are going to have a group of 12 up there, so i am trying to think of stuff to entertain everyone with.  I asked my son what he wants to do and just as i expected, his reply was "whatever everyone wants to do."  Just like him.  He is so versitile.  Bring warm clothes, Ladies...we are in for a cold weekend!

Stay warm during your storm also, Lorraine!!
