I noticed other divisions are choosing a color to match their recruit's flag to PIR.  Does anyone know our colors yet?  I asked my son in a letter, but we all know that may take a few weeks to get a response from.  They are saying scarves that match....  Let me know!  Thanks all and have a wonderful day!!

We didn't get a letter this week, either. :-( I hope that they all wrote someone else because they were able to call, rather than think that the division got in trouble...
Tchrmom: check WHAT TO BRING TO PIR posts; the photos are taken in like the 4th week, the recruits order them, and I think that we can order DVDs of the PIR and maybe more prints of their photos when we come. I hope that helps.

Well, at least I know it isn't only me.  Wonder what happened that they didn't get any letters out!

Hi bsmom!

No letters this week from my son. His wife got the call. Hope all is well in BC.

Call me a greedy mother...but, did anyone get any letters this week?  I know I received a phone call, but no mail in 10 days.  Maybe he wrote his dad this week.  Just wondering if his division got in trouble and they were unable to write/send letters.  Thanks girls, and have a wonderful day!

Andria, I am just floored (and THRILLED) he is going to chapel! In this weeks letter, he mentioned getting a Bible! WOW!!!

I know I read something, somewhere on this website about photo packages. Does anyone know where it is?

I keep playing the message that my sailor left on my phone. I love listening to his voice, plus he sounds proud of what he's accomplished and also like maybe he misses me, too. :-)

Hi Moms!  I, too was able to speak with my son last night- almost missed out, too.  I missed the call on my cell phone, and when I saw where it was from I burst in to tears and called my daughter at college.  While we were talking, he called her, and she made us into a conference call!  He says that he's been praying out loud for the ship at night, and got a Bible that he's been reading every night. :-)  I told him about chapel.  I am so thankful for the support from all of you!  Bsmem, thank you for wishing all of us to get a call. My son had his wisdom teeth out earlier this year- I am thankful for that, it must be such an added stress on our recruits!  He also had to get his braces removed before boot camp.  I hope that his teeth were ready.  I forgot to remind him not to mince on the photo pkg- I'm afraid that he will.  He sounded happy there, and proud of what he'd accomplished so far.  I am proud of him and all the recruits, too!  Now I'm back to watching for the mail delivery.  But 37 days is not very much, after all. :-)

Andria- I work in the dental field and can not even imagine these kids getting their wisdom teeth out in basic!!  That is oral surgery!  So glad they are doing ok.  I made my son come into the office and have his teeth cleaned and checked before he left.  I am pretty protective over who does his dental work.

Only 35 days left girls...we are ALMOST there!!  Tears still come every day, but not as many and not as often.  Knowing he is doing well makes things a lot easier!..Yes, Andria, I think we will be ok.
