Glad to hear there is a Navy Dads! Can't imagine my husband getting involved like that. He keeps saying he's going to write, but hasn't yet. Sounds sad, but I have a feeling that he thinks I write enough for the whole family. i'm sure it's not true. Before we leave NY tonight, I'll get him to write. I'm sure his son would like to hear from him!!
When you say Day 2-1, day 1-1, is that the week and day number of their training? Do they have formal training on Sat and Sunday also? Not that I think they get the weekend "off"... I can't wait to hear from him! Can't wait to be home and get a letter and open it myself! But I'd be happy to hear his letter over the phone, opened by my neighbor rather than waiting until Thurs night. maybe today? Let's hope. The other two moms in this group with kids in div 082, do you know their kids names? I messaged one but haven't heard back yet. The other hasn't accepted me as a friend yet so I can't send her a message. I think one has a son, the other a daughter.

Does anyone know if they have started their actual Boot camp training yet? I read somewhere that when they get there between Dec 15 & Jan 2, they are in a holding pattern and actually just getting used to BC life until about the 3rd or 4th of Jan (when they actually start training).
In my last letter, I encouraged my son to tell other recruits in the division about N4M and have them write home about it. Maybe we'll gain a few members that way from div 082. I don't mean to sound sexist, but those of you with daughters, they may be better about getting the word out. Sons just don't do that sort of thing I think. Guess that's why its Navy4Moms and not Navy4DADS! LOL!
I finally got my form letter. Just seeing his handwriting on the envelope made me so relieved. I tried to open the envelope so carefully and finally just busted it open! It contained 2 little brochures and the 2 page of printed words. A few handwritten informational words and then the last 3 lines at the bottom of the last page. I was hoping for a book, but just got a few carefully printed sentences. It looks like it took him a awhile to get the words so neatly printed. He said he is doing fine and not to worry! Yeah, like that's gonna happen. He said that it was Dec 20th and he wouldn't be able to write for another 2-3 weeks.
I am glad to have the letter, I wish it said more and that I could tell you all more. I will sleep with the letter for awhile! I still miss him but at least I know he has a pencile, now! LOL
Good Morning Ladies! We didn't get the phone call on Christmas that I was hoping for, but didn't expect it, either. I am just glad that I wasn't the only one not to get it. Christmas was a sobering experience this year! I actually had both of my military sons away and have never had that happen in 26 years! I was able to speak many times to my other soldier and advised him that whenever possible they both need to be here...or mom will bust! We are hoping that my Navy man will eventually be stationed in the neighboring base to my Air Force man in California....only time will tell! It's about to be a new year, with a new life for us.
We made it through Christmas!! Time has passed, and that means fewer to go until we see our sons and daughters! Love and God Bless!
Yeah! We are to 5 members! Glad Christmas is over. Caryn A, I like your "this is the way it's supposed to be" mantra. I have been telling my son to remember the tatoo that is inked across his best friend's chest- "This too shall pass". Told him that that can get him through anything, while actually it's become my mantra.
I am having feeling very frustrated that I am out of town, my neighbor is screening my mail and on high alert for anything coming from Illinois. I am hoping to get a REAL letter soon but won't be home to read it myself! We won't be home until THURSDAY. We will get to a point where we know what's going on, right?
