As excited as we are about PIR, it's really tough on us.  We run our own business and taking a few days off means the business will have to be closed.  It's always a tough call, but in this case, it's worth it.  Now if the weather will just co-operate, everything will be great.

Hey Stefanie, The weather says we are in for some snow in the next few days here in Arkansas.  I'm not a cold weather person, so 15 minute walk does not sound inviting, however I guess you have to look at what's at the end of that walk.  We will survive, we are Navy Moms!

Good afternoon everyone. Its snowing here in Egg Harbor Twp NJ. they called for 3-6 and we are waaay over that now. I changed my user name to my real name also. I was sajersey. That countdown clock is looking better and better every time I see it. Is it really a15-20 min walk to the building frm the shuttle drop-off? I keep looking out the window here at all this lovely snow and thinking if my son gets stationed somewhere like San Diego or Hawaii* I am so going there! yeah I know wishful thinking:)

Plus if we take the shuttle back with our SRs after PIR we'll have a chance to say hello to each others SR.

Thanks! Wayne's pretty attached to his truck but I'm thinking shuttle.  We will see who wins this battle :). I'm so excited for PIR!!!

Yes, we decided on the shuttle, as well...I hear the car lineup is horrid, so the walk will do us good, and, yes we have each other to 'schmooze' with on the walk over...lol

Our commute should be around 12hrs or so, weather/traffic permitting...I'm praying Mother Nature takes those days off!

Sharlene - I plan on taking the shuttle from the Ramada to save the wait to get off base.  I'm a California girl, so I too, dreading the walk from the front gate.  I hope to have a bunch of Navy Moms keeping me company on the walk.

BTW, I just change by page to display my "real" name.  When I first set up my page I used a "username" that I use on some other pages.  I realized that with PIR coming up and the meet and greet, I should have used my real name.
