I think Ellen is right Tash. It seems it is done by Div. but if they are on watch they can't leave watch to make a call. Our guys in Div. 050 sound like they are buckling down now and taking things seriously after a rough start. That's why you may not have received a letter. Their "free" time is necessarily free, they have to do ironing, studying, and extra work they volunteered for during those times. This is why I'm not getting letters. My poor SR says he doesn't have time to write. So, it's possible that our Div. is putting thier nose to the grindstone. It's hard to accept, I have trouble with it too, but keep telling yourself "No news is good news!"
Tash- He may have had watch duty like Gina's SR did the day we got our calls...
Aww man..I haven't received a letter in a while.... : ( I miss him soo much!
I didnt get any calls either after the first one a while back...Gina do you know if every SR in the same division gets to call on the same day...I didnt get a call on Sunday =( ? Or some do and some dont?
Don't you just love that word..."Sailor"...:)
I'm hoping everyone has a very calm, relaxing holiday. I'll be toasting us all and our SR's, as well. It's going to be an awesome New Year!!!
WHOOO HOOO! Praying that Chicago does not get snowed in! Can you believe that they've been gone 5 weeks? Sometimes it feels longer, but it does go by quick. I think we all have made it through the hardest part as Bootcamp Moms. Now we can look forward to our trip, PIR and getting those sailor pictures. I know it will be hard having Christmas without them, but we can at least be distracted a little from worrying by family and friends. Lord knows I have been completely distracted this week. I was up until 11:30 pm last night wrapping presents, booking travel, etc. Then up again at 4:30 am for a regular day at work. I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Friday, if my retired MCPO father will allow it. LOL!
Woo Hoo!!! One month 'til PIR :):):)
Yes, to letters...they are able to write during the week now!
Although, Gina might not get as many letters...lol:) I'm the same way...the letters are always great but, that call confirmed 'all is well' and as it should be...
Everyone's all booked for GL's-Awesome! We are going to have an amazing time, ladies:)
Hiya Tash...no letters, but my SR confessed to not writing when I talked to him on Sunday.
Ellen - I'm still riding my high from the phone call, too. I'm all good now...if all I get from here on out is the "I'm a sailor" call it's good enough. :)
I just finished booking all my travel...look out Great Lakes here I come!
Hey Ladies,
Did any of you receive letters today? or calls (not today but a couple days ago) ?
It's great to see the progression of our SR's, especially in their letters/voices when they call-more positive, even excitement...they are going to be Sailor's in the finest Navy in the world....
I don't know about you, but my heart just skipped a beat ;)
