For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

me too...i just replied to your post on the other page....my son says he flies out Saturday just after midnight...yet im seeing the other FLA peeps leaving Sunday..im so confused...lol!!!!
id love to have that time at the airport that ive read about...

I have a stupid question but my son thought that I was crazy renting a car. He thought I just just take a cab to and from airport and he says he will have transportation back on to base at night??? Is that true. He thinks we would have no trouble riding buses from the hotel for eating. I have no idea??? I would loooove to not have to drive a rental to save almost two hundred dollars and I would loooove to not have to drive in chicago because I get lost in the mall in my home town which is very small! I have no sense of direction at all, I get lost in a wet paper bag. I also have panic attacks driving on the interstates at home which are nothing compared to Chicago I'm sure. HELP!! What should I do??

I think not knowing bus schedules and such I would rent the car. Maybe one of the vet moms know. I know not much help.

On the main page lots of people have been recommending "Sarge" and have posted his number a few times.
Ive also seen stuff about a train that runs from the city.
Other than the VetMoms the PIR Reference page has great information.:)
Plane,Train,Automobile...:) I look forward to seeing everyone at the meet and greet.
Gotta run...we fly out in a couple hours!
