I got my first real letter today also. So excited. She sounds so happy. It's like she was meant to be there.

Yeah!!  I got letters today!!  I'm so excited that he got to write.  He wrote his dad, sister and brother too.  He's doing ok.  He said they never sleep.  The food is good.  He really likes his bunk mate and he's doing what he's told to do when he's told to do it.  That's the best part!  God is good and I'm so proud!!!

I myself am a shuttle fan, kim.  We left on the 6:30 one from Residence and were seated in the PIR Hall a few minutes after 7.  So...see...some like the shuttles, some like to drive!  :-)

HA, momma'o!  The stories about what we ladies will do when hearing from our SRs while in bootcamp....would make a best-selling book!  So funny!

Hoping that it won't be long before you hear his voice....LIVE!

my SR called his uncle (security question) and he(ever so thoughtfully)saved the message on his phone so I could hear my SRs voice.

well i didnt realize that the message was from a couple days ago so i start running around yelling "wheres my phone..wheres my phone!!!" thinking he's calling "RIGHT NOW!!!!"and that im going to miss it....oh my!!!!

my husband came to me with a gentle smile and explained when the call was from and ladies.....i lost it!

i was just so excited at the possibility of hearing from him.

im ok now of course..and im sure my son will get a kick outta his momma being a "dork"...but man....the moment i realized it was a few days old.....whew..rough! :)

The parking on base was great. We got there pretty early and didn't have far to walk at all. But I was so excited seeing all those Sailors in Dress whites and looking for my daughter's face in every one of them that I don't think my feet even touched the ground from the car to the PIR hall lol.

I have received a bunch of email about the ribbons I am making for everyone who wants them to wear to PIR. You guys are awesome and I appreciate all your kind words. I put a lot of love into the ribbons and I am so excited to have another group wearing them to PIR :-)

Thanks for the insight regarding using the Ramada shuttle - I do want to be there early.  How is the parking on Base?  We will have a rental car because we are flying in from WA state.

Good Morning everyone, I hope you are having a good week and writing lots of letters. If you have any questions please ask, there is no such thing as a dumb question and it doesn't matter if we have answered it before. We are here and ready to help :-)

jpvtxmom:  You can definitely take all of the things you mentioned.  The black or navy plain backpack or duffel would be good for them to be transported in.  I would take just a few civilian clothes for your sailor for after phase up, since you can always mail others later.  Be sure to ask your sailors what they would like for you to bring.  I would bring all of those things and take back anything that he might not be able to have (they can have most things). Sandy is right...he can't have those on RTC, but I'm assuming he may be moving over to GL base right after PIR?  In that case, once moved, he can return to A School base with them.

I received a friend request this morning re; mailing college transcripts with an address discrepancy.  Unfortunately, my electricity went off right when I was reading your comment and it was lost.  Can you please friend request me again?  Sorry!
