I take no credit for organizing anything. I was just happy to have something to do that was focused around my son and kept me busy for a while! Here's hoping we all get some news this weekend.

Dana- So glad you got a letter, and I'm so sorry for your loss. I just finished my Christmas cards and was getting ready to pack them up. I read that div 053 has 4 RDC's. I will add two more cards addressed to them, if you can add two more we should be covered. I felt better after finishing my cards, I hope you do, too.

Hi ladies! I got my letter today. He says he's doing great and sounds really good. He's still being the big brother even through snail mail - LOL! I will get my cards in the mail this weekend. We had a death in the family and the funeral is on Saturday(didn't tell my son about this, I don't want him distracted), but I have the cards already and I'm all set to get them out. I think writing them will encourage me as well. I like the idea of sending a card for the RDC. Do we know how many RDCs are assigned to the division?

I called the Public Affairs Office at RTC on Monday. They stated that the cards could be sent in one envelope addressed to your recruit. They said the recruit would be asked to open the envelope in front of his RDC (since it would be oversized) and that once they saw it was Christmas cards it would be up to the RDC if the recruit could pass them out. I was told the recruit would not be penalized. I'm sending mine out tomorrow!

Great news Chris!!!!! Letters are on the way, I'm soooooo excited :) I'm with you I think the Christmas cards are super important. So glad your son is doing fine, you must be on cloud 9. I'm hoping for a letter tomorrow, our mail always takes a little longer.

I am so happy for you. At least we know our division can write. I hope to get home from work and find a letter myself.

O happy day, just want to let you know I received a letter from my son today!!!  It was great hearing from him - he sounds fine, like himself, the only thing that got to me was when he said before he left he didn't think it would be any big deal to be away from home for Christmas but now when he thinks about it he gets depressed.  I think those cards will be REALLY important!

I will be mailing the 18 cards by the end of the day. When I had an issue about the PIR date, the PAO said my son would be sending a correction on the date. I haven't received that either. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Hopefully, we will get something soon.

Welcome to our little group danbrisoap!  So now we're each doing 18 cards. Great!  That makes it a little easier on each of us.  We are having major snow here today so I will spend the day inside scratching things off my to-do list, including Christmas cards for our recruits!  Sharon, thanks so much for sharing that verse - it gave me chills.  By the way, did any of you see the message from Lynne on the PIR 1/28/11 group site?  She said one of the divisions in the PIR 1/28/11 group is not being allowed to send mail.  I almost cried when I read that.  Let's hope and pray whatever divsion it is will get their act together so they can send mail.
