Chris,
Originally we thought be was going to be a g&g and I was hoping to meet him at the airport. I figure now I will just bring it so he can check-in with all his friends on facebook Friday afternoon and then ship it to San Antonio once he gets there. I figure someone there will have a cell phone that he can use to call me with his address instead of having to wait for the form letter. Remember, how long that first 2 weeks was!! I'm with you, it will be much nicer to have more contact, he hasn't been much of a letter writer! I haven't heard anything about their schedule other than Jan 3rd was 4-1 for them. I'm not expecting a phone call until after Battlestations.
Sharon,
Sorry to hear you won't be able to stay the weekend. At least after boot camp it will be A LOT easier to stay in touch with him. Also, I have the impression that we can't give them anything to take to A school e.g. their cell phones or laptops. Those who are able to go to the airport with them I think can give it to them there. I may be wrong but that is my understanding. We won't be able to go to the airport with my son so I'm planning on either making a quick trip to South Carolina or mailing his things.
Hi Ladies! Happy New Year to all of you. It was extremely busy over the holidays, but it was very weird not having our son home. His smile is just the best - LOL! I haven't heard from him since Christmas Eve,w hich feels like a very long time. He's due to go to A school in Gulfport, but I don't know about his travel plans yet.
Welcome hikermom! Can't wait to meet you.
