Hi Chris,  that is really sad to hear about that recruit.  If you are able to get their name maybe we can write him a letter or two?  It makes me happy that we did the Christmas cards also.  I think it's a great idea to get to know a little more about each other.  It turns out that Sharon's son and my son are buddies, which is just great.  My son did ask for all of the names of the moms that I communicate with, so I just sent that off to him in a letter today.  He plans to do his own investigation to figure out who your sons are.  I live in Milwaukee, WI.  I am the mother of six children, one girl and five boys.  My recruit is #2, but the oldest boy. I've always worked outside of the home, I've been a Technical Project Manager for the last 10 years.  My daughter called to say that she changed her mind, so I will have all of the children home except my recruit as well.  My daughter (#1) is in her fouth year at college.  Our other sons (#3 & #4) are high school juniors, (#5) is a high school freshman, and (#6) is in the 7th grade.  With four children still at home, our house is now where near quiet.  It seems to be the gathering spot for all of the friends.  I think what we've shared it okay, it basically the info I have in my profile.  But I think if we wish to share any more detail we may want to do it via Inbox.

Hi all,  I just want to let you know something my son told me during our phone conversation.  First, he said they just started receiving mail this week.  He also said there was a recruit who didn't receive any mail. That broke my heart.  I had sent my son some comics from the paper and he said he gave those to the recruit while he read his letters.  I am so, so glad we did those Christmas cards!  Also, I thought it might me fun to get to know each other a little better.  I live in southern Ohio, am the mother of five children. My recruit is the 4th and is 18 years old.  I have been mostly a stay at home mom for close to 30 years!  I will have all of my children home for Christmas except for my recruit.  My oldest daughter is an accountant in London, England.  Son #1 is in culinary school in Phoenix, son # 2 is a student at the local university and daughter #2 is 12 and in 7th grade.  She is  the only one left at home and it sure is quiet without my recruit here.  I'm sure your homes are quieter as well.  I hope it's okay to share all this.  I'd love to know more about all of you!

Hi ladies!  It's been a little while.  I did get my Christmas cards all complete and sent off, the lady at the post office said they should arrive by the 23rd.  I got my phone call yesterday also.  It was so good to hear his voice.  I learned that my son is the biggest person in the division - LOL!  I thought he might be.  He wanted to know all of the names of the moms that I've connected with on Navy for Moms, because he thinks he may be friends with your kids. Sharon, I'm from Milwaukee - I wonder if he's talking about my son.  I think we'll have to investigate.  It's been difficult to have him gone and not able to talk to him as often as I would like, but I've held up pretty well - that is until yesterday.  I got really sad thinking about him not being home and had a good cry - I cried so much I couldn't breathe - that was a mess.  When I got home today, I received another letter in the mail.  This time it was 7 pages - WOO HOO!!!  He sent his us his Christmas list - he must think he's an only child with all of the big ticket items he's listed :)  I start my vacation tomorrow, so I'll be able to log on more frequently over the next two weeks.  I wish you ladies a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful and Blessed New Year!  I can't wait to meet all of you and your wonderful children.  I'm getting gitty just thinking about it. :D

I got my phone call too, sooooo exciting. He sounded great and even says he is having fun. Said he has a buddy from Milwaukee, WI and wanted to know if I knew his mom. I couldn't believe how normal he sounded, like it was no big deal and here I am stressing and worrying every day. Guess I really do need to put this in God's hands because He is looking out for him!!! What a great start to my week :)

Adamsmom,  so glad you received your letter.  It sure would be nice to hear the sound of their voices.  I sent out the Christmas cards Friday, also included some for the RDC's.  I hope they will get there in time.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, especially this week that I know will be difficult for us and our recruits.
