Got DH's letter yesterday and a very quick call today- he needs me to fax over his college transcript so they can correct him to E3.  For summer hours the records office is closed today so hopefully it's ok that I won't be able to do it until Monday.

Joels Rackie:  thanks for the link to BS21!  made me cry to think that my son is going to be a United States Sailor!

Thank God for letters!  Those 3 and 4 minute calls don't let me get a real feel for how my son is doing (though I love to hear his voice!).  Now that I've gotten a couple of letters, I know he is doing well, adjusting to Navy life and that it is getting easier!  Joels rackie, I believe my son knows your husband!

Justin said there are 4 RDCs but he only thinks 2 actually care about them.  And he said, "Don't send me care packages!  You can send pictures, but nothing raunchy!"  Makes me wonder if anyone has gotten into trouble for contraband

I got my 2nd letter today too!!! My son sounded great! He said they're in a mixed male/female div and their brother div is 223. I guess they PT with them among other things. He knows the ARPOC, from LA as well as a number of other recruits from the south; Alabama, Texas, Tenn etc. He also said that the RDC's watch you when you open letters with photos...FYI. He asked me to keep sending them though.

Wow! I'm so glad his division got their calls today. But most of all to hear his answer to my question of "are you doing good? You passing? And his response before hanging up was "mom, I'm kicking butt!". He really sounded honestly so well and upbeat. Like someone else commented, maybe they see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel like they have just invested to much time and effort into this journey:)
