Hello everyone,
It is nice to see everyone is still checking in and giving updates. Very cool! It is nice to see that everyone's sailor is still doing well. Ben is also doing well. He will be in Great Lakes for about another year for his schooling. He is still taking things seriously and trying to do his best. He said he finally called his room "home" for the first time about a week ago. I still miss him terribly, but getting to talk to him and text him helps. I send him care packages which he and his roommate love! I told Ben the box is stuffed full of love and his comment was that is "badass". Anyway, take care everyone and I'm sending my best wishes to all of you and your families.
Hi everyone! It's so nice to get updates and see how everyone's son is doing. Glad to hear such positive stories!! My son, Josh, is doing great as well - he too seems to really like the Navy and admits it's the best thing he's done. I'm so proud of him!
And the best news... he is coming home this weekend!! He earned his blue card which gives him privilege of being off base over night... it's a long weekend due to holiday on Monday, so he's going to come home. He has his car there now, and it's only a 3 hr drive. I can't wait to see him and give him a big hug! :)
Hi everybody,
I haven't been on since graduation. Daniel is in Pensacola with a few other guys from his division. He has been there since BC. He will be leaving in 7 weeks for Norfolk Virginia for the rest of his aircrew school. He graduated last thursday from the Air Canidate school. He is doing great. Excelling in the Navy. I talk to him daily and he is so happy. I can't believe how great the Navy is for my son. Who Knew.
Hi Merlin.... I agree it seems odd not coming on here so often... Josh is doing well in CT too - he actually got the rate he wanted - ET/Comm - so it looks like most of his first year of schooling will be in Groton. So exciting for me as it's less than a 3 hr drive!! In fact, I'm planning to go down and see him in another week or so.
He seems to be doing well and is settled in with what he has to do. He does appear to be happy and content with the path he has chosen. Isn't Skype a wonderful thing?
Hope everyone is doing well!
Linda - thanks for the info on Sarge! Cody used him this past Saturday and described him as a large, muscular Italian guy with a Chicago accent. . .reminded him of the Mafia! LOL But said the guy was super nice and provided them with a list of his prices to popular locations such as the airport, the mall, etc. Great resource. . .thank you!
Cody has his first big test today. . .anyone else?
