Lydia:  Can't believe about the fraudulant charges!!!  Thanks for the warning!  I will be much more careful when I am in the Chicago area in the future.  Don't really think of that stuff here in little 'ol Iowa.  LOL  Hey, our boys are taking their first tests today!!!

Lydia, The picture is pretty cool. I received it in the picture pkg that was shipped to my home the week following PIR.

Billie, I swear, you should be a motivational speaker!  So many of your posts have helped me over rough patches.  Now just help me adjust to the realization that Matt really doesn't live with me any more.  When he was away at school, he still lived with me, but now he doesn't.  I know it sounds silly, but looking at my driveway with just one car has been one of the hardest parts of this "new life."   But thanks for all your uplifting messages!

Side note:  Cody said that every morning during bootcamp the RDCs would tell the boys what their day would entail, and one of the RDCs would always end the meeting by saying, "Easy day, boys.  Let's get it done!"  And so I encourage you ladies to adopt this saying for yourselves.  I woke up this morning, started thinking of Cody with a heavy heart, and then thought, "Easy day, Billie."  It definitely helped.  :)

Hi friends.  Drove Cody back to Great Lakes on Saturday (7 hours one-way) and it was just the two of us. . .was a wonderful blessing to have that one-on-one time with him!  Got there, went out to eat, and then went to a movie before I took him to base.  I really needed that time with him.  Was worried that I would be an emotional wreck after leaving him ONCE AGAIN, but I'm actually doing okay.  I think I worried my husband for a moment last night when I teared up over something stupid, but nothing major and definitely nothing like when Cody first went to bootcamp.  *Sigh*  It does help that we can now communicate with our boys via the internet and cell, and it helps me tremendously to know that Cody is done with bootcamp and is in school/training.

So good to hear about the time you spent with your boys. . .what a blessing!!!  Hope you are all doing wonderful - better than expected - this week as you readjust to having your boys gone again.

Happy New Year to everyone!  Joshua had to leave on Sunday (back to Groton, CT) as he had to be checked in early on Monday morning.  As I've mentioned, I was able to drive him there, as it's only 2.5 hrs - however that was the day of the storm so it took me 10 hrs total to go there and back!  Horrible driving conditions but glad I was able to have the extra time with him.  It was just he and I, and when we got there, I was able to drive on base up to his dorm, help him carry his stuff in (only as far as the lobby though!).  It was cool seeing the base and seeing some of the things they have there (movie theater, bowling).

while it was sad to see him go again, I know at least that I can contact him - we stay in touch via text and Facebook - and I also know he's not that far away so I could go down and see him on a weekend.  Plus he just seemed so happy and at peace with his decision on being in the Navy - I am so happy for him and so proud of him!

Happy New Year, everybody.  I hope everybody had a great Christmas.  Wasn't it perfect to have our sailors home with us.  My sailor's big brother got me a Christmas ornament that's a US flag with a white sailor hat underneath, and it says I'm Proud of My Sailor.

My Matt's leaving tomorrow.  It's killing me.  Last week wasn't so bad, but now that the Christmas rush is all over, I'm realizing I've got a limited number of hours left with him.  They've already asked me at work if I'll be all weepy next week and everybody will have to be nice to me!  Matt did get me a webcam for Christmas and we set up a Skype acct. yesterday, so that will help.  We've had a wonderful time, it just went by way too fast.  It's been great having you guys here, and I guess we'll be leaning on each other again next week!

Hi everyone!  Hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas with their boys and are eagerly looking forward to a new year filled with new adventures and unexpected blessings!!!  Haven't check in for a while but I've been thinking of you and wondering how your visits are going.  Cody returns to the Great Lakes on Jan. 1.  Our time with him has been wonderful, but he is eager to get back to A School.  So, we are trying to get as much quality time in with him as possible before he leaves.  Hope your boys are doing great. . .been praying that we don't get down in the dumps after our boys go back to A School.  NOT looking forward to having him leave again, but am hoping this time it will be easier.

Hi All, I hope everyone has had a great Christmas & has had some time with their sailors. It has been really nice to have Matt home for the holidays. He flew home 12/18/10 & will be going back to Charleston on New Years Day. I'm just glad that he isn't trying to fly back in the midst of that snow storm on the east coast...YUCK! It does look like he will be flying back during poss thunder storms. I know he is eager to class up & begin his A School.

Happy Holidays all my N4M's friends! I hope you are all enjoying your son's being home as much as I am. What a nice gift for all of us.
