Lydia:  Cody's barracks isn't called anything. ..no ship title.  Not sure why?  And thanks for posting the Hall of Fame photo!  I wonder if there is a way that we can get it put into a poster for our boys???  Just thought the momento would be neat.

Lydia:  Sounds like a wonderful excuse to take a trip to the west coast!!!  How long will Luke be at Great Lakes?

Good morning friends!  Cody is on the run, too, which is causing me to experience mixed emotions.  He is my only one, too, so I am having a hard time keeping my mouth shut and just letting him do his thing.  At times I struggle with not getting emotional (I HATE crying) because I know he won't be home again for several months, and at other times I try to remind myself to take one day at a time and to make the most of having him home.  On a side note, I have to laugh.  Cody sleeps on TOP of his bedding while wearing his Navy sweat pants and hoodie (with the hood up and over his head) and while wearing his combat boots.  LOL  Can't see how he is comfortable, but I guess he is.  Wow, it's just so good to have him home.

I hope and pray your time with your boys goes slow and is filled with joyous, quality time.  :)

Good evening all!  I hope by this time everyone's sons/daughters have made it home for the holidays.  What a blessing it is to have my son home!

Good morning friends!!!  Bookwurm - what a blessing to have Josh so close to you!!!!  Hug on that boy like crazy!!!

Lydia:  I'm pretty sure the train does take the guys to the airport.  My photos didn't turn out the greatest, either.  A few good ones and a lot of fuzzy ones.  :(

I talked with Cody twice last night; he was taking advantage of the Nex and was Christmas shopping.  He was still up at 10:15 P.M. packing stuff.  He was so funny, kept texting me and asking questions like "should I bring my blues for church" and "what size jeans did I wear before bootcamp", etc.  LOL  Then I received a text from him at 3:33 AM saying he was up and excited to come home.  Was wondering why he was up so early!  Must have been for muster.  Poor kid didn't get much sleep last night.

We can't pick Cody up until 4 PM, and he's going to have a load to carry across base to the visitor's center because he's bringing his clothes, the gifts he bought last night, and his laundry.  LOL  Geesh!!!!  I'm SO EXCITED to get that boy home!!!

I am happy to say that I have Josh home tonight!  I was able to drive to Groton to pick him up (only 2.5 hr ride)!!  I am so excited that he's home for the holidays... even more excited that he's so "local" for sub school!

Merry Christmas to everyone!  Enjoy your time with your sons! :)
