Lala, my husband had several of the people in his group ask him to design the flag.  He said he had about a dozen different drafts that he turned in to the RDC for approval.  I still haven't heard back if they picked one of his or not but it at least gave him something else to do while he was SIQ from having his wisdom teeth pulled. =)

Julie:  Some ladies get a drawing of the division flag (designed made by your SRs)...not sure if their SRs send it...but every now and then, we will see one posted on the boards.  You can order the division tshirts which have your division design on them.  Here is the link:

WTI=Weapons Training Inspections

PFA= Physical Fitness Assessment (their run, pushups, situps)

PI=Personal inspection

...I think!

Just in case anyone asks...no, you don't get to see the "proofs" of your sailor's piks...unless you go to the NEX after PIR...you can order more pictures then.  Not sure if you would get to see all of the proofs then, or just the poses your sailor selected.  But on many of the PIR groups, we are asked if the moms/wives can see the proofs and order before PIR.   Sorry to say, not as of yet.

Lala - The ribbons are fantastic.  The flags on them make me feel like my Dad  (retired AF) is looking down on this and watching.  I can't wait until Sat. when I go back to work and wear mine!  I do have a question though so I will be getting in contact with you.  Thank you so very much for your wonderful work!!

My mailman must love me today!!! I got a letter from my son and ribbons from Lala.

My son put 08/16 as 3-4 and 08/18 as 4-1 if that helps anyone out.  From what he said hell week is week 4 and they will be extremely busy doing RDC PFA, simulated arms class, marlinspike, personal and weapons turnover inspection plus zone inspection (PI and WTI) with division pics that week.  He said he felt like the week would fly by and he just hoped hell week wasnt h~ll!  He really likes his RDC's (3 of them).  As of August 21 he had passed his MCA phase zone, PI and WTI inspections, and PFA.  Today he has a drill inspection and the next written test.

Now I have to go look up all the abbreviations and what not so I can figure out what he is talking about!!!

He also said that he had missed his chance to call when they got to last time but that he was semi-patiently waiting and might get a chance this weekend or next week sometime!  Cross my fingers and toes!!!

Thanks so much Deborah- that is good to know. I would think the person who designed it should get to keep it. (unless there were several working on it together)

Twigsmom- thanks so much I am glad you like the PIR ribbons. I know you will be so proud wearing them to PIR :-) Let me know what our daughter thinks of them.

Lesson of the Day ~ if you are attracked to another SR - KEEP IT TO YOURSELF UNTIL AFTER BOOT CAMP! Seems 02/944 had a few "love birds" in their division and they got their wings clipped (asmoed) and caused the division IT time. My poor SR developed a nose bleed after the 25' drop during swim trials (she was so embarressed). She's been having fun with a 9mm and says the days are long but she cannot believe they are half-way through bc already. Says she enjoys their holidays on Sunday and band practice (no IT with percussions lol). 22 days - WOO HOO COME ON 02/944 ~ snap it up and shape it up!!
