Got two letters from my SR today. He sounds...beat. He says hes cold, sick, tired, and just sad. They keep getting in trouble because there are a few other people who keep sneaking food into their lockers. He can't wait for it to be done and over with. He also found out about his A School. He says its for 19 weeks, but Navy can only pay for me to move down to him if its 20 or longer. Really?! Just one week off?? Ughhh. But yes. I think I'm coming to the realization that if I want to be with my SR after bc, then we will have to do it with our own money. I miss him terribly.

I hope there are good affordable places down in Pensacola. Ugh, idk. Now i'm just confused. I wish I could just give my SR a big hug and tell him everything will be okay. ):

KimmieM - my step daughter went in as undesignated Seaman, per her recruiters advise.  I know the emotions you are going through with the uncertainty, but try not to fret to much.  She's in Virginia now and is currently working in Security, which she enjoys.

Lala - I'm from PIR 9-23-11 and was stalking this PIR to see what they were up to.  I think I can help you with your question about the division flags.  Last year my step daughter graduated and she was not only one of the guidons for her division, she was the one that designed their Division flag.  Anyone that wants to put in a design can and then the whole Division votes on it.  The thing that you have to remember is that the person who designed it is also responsible for making it in their own "spare time"; it's a lot of work.  The RDC then decides who gets to keep it after PIR.

ATTENTION 02/944 ~ FYI, individual pictures in their dress blues is scheduled to happen tomorrow. Their division group picture is scheduled to be on Aug 31st. Was also told by the photo lab that on Aug 31st they will get to see proofs of their individual shots and select packages. **This may also be the same info for anyone who's SR's PIR date is Sept 16th **

I wonder how they are picked to help design the DIV Flag. My son is a terrific artist and I am hoping when he goes to boot camp he will get to help design the flag. That would be so cool. I wonder if we have any moms on this site who's SR did that, I don't remember ever hearing that from anyone. I think it would be cool to be able to get a smaller version of the DIV flag :-)

Kimmie, I would say to try and keep the faith.  I understand how disappointed he must be and how confusing things must seem right now.   Having a positive attitude will help him.  You are doing great!

My son was re-classed in A school and it's turned out to be one of the the best thing to happen.  He loves this new rate and says that he knows now that he would not have been happy in the original job.  He graduates from his A school in September and he says he can't wait to start his job.
