Hey All...Hope everyone has a good weekend! Been kind of in the dumps past couple of days so I haven't posted much. I'll snap out of it. Just really really missing my son!!!Such a rollercoaster..up down up down...I just can't even explain the ache I feel in my heart as I sit here in tears...I want to see him! I want to hug him and never let him go! Sadly....he will go that's what hurts so terribly bad!!! Can someone please tell me when I will stop feeling this ache in my heart?

This site has definitely been a godsend for me.  I may not always have a comment but I do get on and read the comments made and I always feel so much better knowing that we have created a special bond with each other.  Thanks to all of you!!!

I definately agree!!  It's so wonderful to talk to other's who are going threw the same thing.  And to be able to talk to others with SR in the same DIV and PIR date is so wonderful.

I hope I get to meet you guys at the Meet 'n Greet because there's going to be so many of "us" at PIR, unless we have neon signs on point us out - we'll never find each other on that special Friday!  After all this is said and done, I hope we are able to keep in contact as to the paths our Sailors take and be there for each other.  This is just the beginning of dealing with military life for us.  God bless our SRs and US as we stand tall, strong and proud to support them on their journey.  LOVE YA GUYS!!!!   {{{{{ hugs to everyone  }}}}}

My daughters Dad found a posting on Navy Recruit Training Command (facebook), basically said that the recruits that are staying at Great Lakes for A school will have 4-5 hours to move on Friday after PIR, then can spend weekend liberty with their families (back to base at night). The recruits going somewhere else will fly out Saturday, as early as 2:00 am, to their destinations for A school. Parents are encouraged to visit with them at the airport. The only reason this would be different is that airline tickets could not be found for Saturday flights...

If any of you are close enough to drive to Davenport, Iowa, on Sunday, come on over!  I've got a bunch of Navy moms and community packing up some love to send to some deployed sailors.  If you're close enough to get involved somewhere with Molly's Adopt a Sailor (find the group on here), do it or start your own little hometown group.  Legion Auxiliary ladies and Marine Moms love to help, so you aren't alone if you can find some.  It's one of the ways I keep busy--volunteering for other veterans and service members.

Ladies-I have to apologize for being MIA for a while. You see my DH came home from a six month tour in Iraq about 5 weeks ago. Post-deployment is...real. As is Pre-deployment-or what I equal to h*** on earth-and the actual deployment. So been busy reconnecting and adjusting- but EXTREMELY happy!

Even though separation is hard we have been blessed to make our marriage stronger...even after 31 years together. It can be done ladies!

God is good.
