My son's PIR is 10/31/14. Would love to chat with other moms that have kids in Div 821.

Got another letter today. My son said they will be doing a lot of test this week and he thought they would all do well on them. He stated once again how the division is really coming together as a team. He too has been fighting the Boot Camp Crud and is not feeling up to par. It's a helpless feeling knowing your child is sick and you can't just pick up the phone to check on them. Sending hope and prayers to all of our boys to get well / stay healthy.

I got some letters today. I got mines on an off day too. I usually get them on Wednesday! They must have been able to send some out early or maybe that was a hold up from the holiday. Anyways, in one of his letters he talked about doing practice tests and whoever scored the best would get a 10 min phone call home so someone was lucky this past week, or last week! They are really coming together as a group and haven't been messing up so much during drill practice. I'm so excited for the announcement of our boys division at PIR. There will be a M&G at the Ramada the night before I believe. Any of you going? It will be free. If I'm not still jet lagged then I will probably attend. Did any of your boys tell you about their swim shorts? They call them UDC's. I crack up every time he mentions them. He calls them "booty shorts". I don't think they are his favorite attire.

One last thing, he said his bunkmate's first name starts w/a J and is from Illinois. Anyone have a SR that meets that description?

Forgot to mention--in his letter, which was written last Tuesday, they were on 3-4. so that would mean they are about 4-4 today. Also, sounds like they still get put to the test both mentally and physically each day, and a lot of the guys are questioning if they are tough enough for the job. We really need to encourage our recruits through these last few weeks.

got 2 letters and my questionnaire back. Letters were short, but it was sooo good to hear from him.

We got a letter yesterday- wierd because we will typically get a letter on Wednesdays, so it was nice to get that Monday boost. Hope I can ride the high all week. My SR said that pink eye was going around too and that he'd had the Great Lakes Crappy Cold. I had sent him a questionnaire and got that back too. When asked what his favorite food that is served during basic his response was - Frosted Flakes. Gee, guess the food isn't as good as his Mom's home cooking (Yay Mom).

Glad you got to hear from your SR pamom. Usually Thursday is mail day for me. It would be great if I got an extra communication from him. Sounds like he was in really good spirits, always a good sign.

Hi everyone, Had a nice surprise today, a letter AND a filled out questionaire! It was a short letter, I guess they were given 30 minutes to write one night,so he quickly filled me in. It was dated the 8th. He isn't sick, passed the 2nd PFA ( not the PST.. I guess that one comes later) Their DIV had 1st real inspection that counted (his words) He said he didn't have any hits, so he was happy.
He said there are some really funny guys in their DIV, who keep everybody entertained! He can't wait to see us:)

Hi Everyone....I got a letter dated the 6th. My SR is sick also. Not fun with all that is going on with them. I am sick myself now. Bummer, but would rather get it all over with now and not be sick at the PIR. Wishing all of our SRs better health and all Moms too. As
