My son's PIR is 10/31/14. Would love to chat with other moms that have kids in Div 821.

My husband got a point off on inspection due to shaving! He claims he doesn't even have hair because he's filipino haha.

KarsonsMama, my son said the same thing about the shaving, He really only had to shave around once a week, he doesn't have much facial hair, so he isn't liking this everyday shaving thing very much!

Well, one more week down! It's a chilly day here in Wisconsin-one of those beautiful fall days where it's not too hot and not too cold. Makes me feel like Oct 1st is just around the corner.

I accepted the request. Does your son play the guitar?

Got letters again yesterday...something was mentioned about a staring contest and his little sister wasn't going to stand a chance against him now! Must be he has been practicing in bootcamp? Also said that they all passes their first test, but couldn't get a good overall division score so not sure when they will get telephone privileges again.. or at least not very long calls... didn't say when though. He said the worst is shaving all the time, it's hard on the face! Are there any moms out their in this division from Kansas?

Got a letter from my son today. In it he said, "this may surprise you, but I am one of the least yelled at guys in the division." And I thought to myself, "Why yes that does surprise me! LOL.

After much deliberation, we decided to stay at the Navy Lodge. I was just glad to finally make a decision about where to stay and get the reservations made.

Yes, we did call the Navy Lodge, I wanted to stay there, but was out voted by my two darling daughters that said they couldn't possibly stay anywhere that didn't have a pool...We finally booked at the Holiday Inn Express. We were told it was fairly new in the area and should be a nice place. Here is hoping. This sure has been an exercise in patience building. I can hardly wait to see my sailor son!!!

Navy Lodge for us as well. I thought the same thing as Tasha, very cheap, 1 mile away, and heard really good reviews about it. Can't wait, getting very excited.

Ladies! Good news, we are in the 20 day countdown!! I swear we were still in the 30's. The 20's just kind of snuck up on me!! No complaints here though, only 4 more weeks!!!

I'm staying at the Navy Lodge. Its reasonable. $65 a night no tax since its government. I tried to book 2 rooms but they only had one available. Not sure if thats true or not, so I will try again to get the second room for my husbands family. You should definitely try though. You can't go wrong with $65/night no tax thats only a mile away from base!
