My son's PIR is 10/31/14. Would love to chat with other moms that have kids in Div 821.

I got a call too! First he called from a crappy phone so he said he was scrambling around to find another one but it was hard because everyone else was on the phone. I'm glad he found one! He said that Dive Mo was his favorite too. He said they're are like one big family up there always having to work together and take a beating for each other. It was nice to hear that they are all getting along. LOL, he said I probably know more than he does too...thank you very much N4M! He told me they had an hour to talk as well and this call wasn't one of those 5 minute teasers I've been getting. They cut them off at 30 minutes! How dare them!! But hey, can't complain. We got to talk to them! He couldn't stop talking about PIR so I know they are all super excited to get out of there. We will all be seeing each other soon!!

Thanks for sharing, ladies. Even though I missed my call, it makes me feel better knowing what is going on in his division. Hopefully they will be over the hump by the end of this week. Praying for all of our boys to work together and be safe. Hugs to all. ♥

It was wonderful to talk to my son today!! He is very decongested and maybe has a sinus infection, but he doesn't want to go to medical because then he will miss 'dive mo' PT. He loves this part of basic training, but other than that he says it is pretty boring. He is looking forward to the next few weeks where they get to do things like firearms and fire fighting.

I think it took this time away from his family to understand how much we mean to him. Before he left, I asked him if he thought he would miss us, he said he didn't think so; he just wanted out of the town he grew up in. But now, he sounded very excited for us to come see him at graduation and even said to leave his phone at home because he wanted to focus on us while we were out there.

Woo Hoo! Today is a good day. I am so glad that I knew that (847) was my boy, otherwise I may have just let it go to voice mail. He sounded tired but in good spirits. Mail is about a week behind. Does anyone know why they're only just starting wk 3 tomorrow? I believe tomorrow is 4wks since my son left for BC. I was asking questions about what he was doing and he said 'mom, you know more about what's going on than I do'. I had to laugh at that. I do admit to being a N4M addict. You all have been a life saver - -truly.

I am so upset I missed that call! UGGG! At least he got to talk with his sister and brother. I read on facebook that his girlfriend got to talk with him, too! I am just thankful he got to hear some familiar voices!

Yes my son also said he wished they would be doing more, especially the PT part.

Me too me too!!!!! He said that they are just entering thier 3rd week, the first week didn't count because it was PT...Said that he wished they were doing more.
If they mention a guy that is offering a Thanksgiving dinner..that would be my son...
As I stated before if they are unable to go home they are all invited to my house in Illinois (about 1 hour away) for a home cooked thanksgiving dinner!! And a free phone!!
It was so great to hear his voice, I almost didn't pick up, because I didn't know the number!!!
Yippie, got my little fix until next time.

I just had my phone call!!!!!! It was so great to hear fromhim. We talked for 27 minutes! He said he didn't know how long he could talk, when they say hang up.. you hang up. Sowe actually had pretty long.
He sounds great, he says they are really just starting to get into things now.
They are a push DIV so it is week2day5? I think that is what he said.
He is making ssome friendss, he gave me some last names but I can't say on
here, I will have to private message some of you and ask some last names!
Food is good, showers are too short, ha ha. Passed his first test and the first PST test. Got all his uniforms, which he said are "so sweet". He said the RDC's
siad they are not sure if they are dress white or dress blue for graduation it depends on the weather. He hasn't gottenmy lastest letters ( mailed last week) but he thinks they will get mail tonight, so hopefully he will get them.
I asked him if he does anyone elses ironing... "no way!" ha ha. Last night he had to iron at 3:30am. He has a little bit of a cold and a few of the guys have pink eye, but all in all everyone is good. They are doing better with the talking.
RDC's are actually pretty cool.( when they aren't yelling at them!)
So I am really happy I got to hear his voice because he sounds great and he is glad he is there.
Hoping you all get your calls tonight as well!!

Good evening everyone- it is exciting to see you are finally getting calls YAY!!!
MO Mom- stay by the phone, maybe he will call another family member then call you back :)

I have been working on ribbons for this Division today. They all look so good. If you haven't seen the pic look 3 or 4 pages back. For this division they are black with gold glitter letters and I am putting the first name on the left and division # on the right. Having the first name on them is not a problem. They won't get in trouble for that and I doubt they would for the last name either. I did some for my daughter's PIR group that had very high level of security clearance and they put the first name and had no problems at all. And just so you know, a lot of Dad's, husbands, boy friends etc wear them as well. They are not too girlie as one dad put it lol. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I can always put Navy Mom on it if anyone thinks that is necessary. If anyone else wants to order please send me a friend request. Thanks
