Hello ship 04 div 821 supporters! Wow, so much to take in for such a short time. PIR will be here before any of us knows it!! Letters seem to be generally positive, and aside from the first few weeks it seems as if everyone is making positive progress. Love to hear that others are going through the same ups and downs as I am. Missing my boy alot, but coming here makes me feel closer to him. At least you all understand and are going through the same thing.

I'm hoping for letters and phone calls this weekend. Its already week 4, I think they deserve a phone call home!! I know they send out letters on Sundays, so Wednesdays would be a prime time for our letters to come in! Got my flight, hotel, and car booked!! I am so excited! 5 more weeks ladies and 34 more days!!! We are soon in the 20-day count downs!
Hawaiimom- Im happy you finally got news from your son! Glad to hear he's doing ok. My husband said the opposite about his boots haha. He said he feels unstoppable in them LOL.

Got more letters on Tuesday (6 pages in 2 envelopes) He informed me that he is making lots of friends and Thanksgiving might be pretty busy at our house. Please know navy Moms of Ship 04 Div 821, I live about 1 hour away from Great Lakes and if he really wants to invite them to our house, they will be welcomed with open arms and lots of love....free food, free phone calls...
My son said he is a 3rd class Petty Officer (or gets to wear the pin) I guess this is a privaledge Yippie!! He also said they can ONLY send mail on Sundays and please keep the stamps coming!
He said it is going really well and we have 104 men in our division to date, he said 4 dropped or was sent home.
Said he is making some great friends!!!

I left the house at 7:30 to make the daily drive to the post office with another letter makes me feel like he is standing here at home and we are talking. I stopped by the store came home and started the letter I will mail tomorrow. Everyday feels like that little kid feeling on Christmas Eve the excitement builds as I wait for the mailman to come. I see him and it is Christmas Day the closer he gets to my house. Then do I get to open the favorite toy (letter) or the package of underwear (no letter). lol I have to work 2nd shift this weekend both Sat. and Sun. Wish the calls would come only when we are home. If I miss it I'll just have to deal with it I guess. Hope as many of us as possible are home to get our calls. Enjoy when ever you get to talk.

Just a little update sent from my son's girlfriend....

Got my first letter today =) He said he gets his mail about every other day and he likes getting our letters but that he's only allowed to send letters on Sundays.

A little update from what he sent me..

He likes the uniform but hates the boots. He got assigned to be a divisional leader which makes him 5th in command, and his job is to keep track of the days events in perfect handwriting and grammar (Hilarious i know).

He likes to joke around and be sarcastic in most of his letters because he doesn't have the chance to do that very often, and it sounds like he's bonding with the other guys in his division the only way they know how...showing off.

Hi...Everyone I just found you Moms. I think it will be fun to hang out with you as we move towards the big day. Then again every time I go to the mailbox and come back with a letter it is a huge day for me. If I got six letters I would probably pass out and then call off work to sit and read them over and over and share with Grandma and other family members.

Hi everyone, I am so happy you all are getting letters. I know how excited you are. I miss the letters actually. Phones are great but I do like the letters. I thought you all might like to see one of the ribbons for this division.

Guess what.. Turns out I'm lucky too!!! Got 3 letters today, 2 of which were 3 pages long. He is adjusting well. Doing alot of standing at attention, marching, ironing, standing watch, etc. He said they hadn't really done any PT for the first 2 weeks. He pased his first PST test the other day, but he said his numbers dropped alittle from what he had been doing, said most of the guys were that way also. Probably from not doing any for 2 weeks. He also said the same thing Tasha's husband said.. they have been getting in trouble quite a bit, mostly from talking too much. So lots of extra PT for them. I'm sure they will learn quickly... the quieter, the better!
He said, please keep writing letters, they all LOVE mail call. The more the better he says. He is adjusting well and says he is glad he made this decision.
It was so great to get those letters and I can't wait for that phone call!!!
Take care, everyone

talking too much. So they have been doing alot of extra PT lately.
