Son left for BC one week ago today. Got "the box" last night. Was not quite prepared for how difficult this would be, but each day gets better and I am so proud of him He was not a happy camper on the way up. I so hope he is adjusting and can't wait to get the first letter.

LisaP- That is amazing!!  I am sure they know each other.  May have been close friends.  We really need to make a date and meet.  I could use some support right now.

LisaP, one of my sons is a Gunners Mate and is on a ship stationed in Norfolk, and my other son is a BM with the Coastal Rivereens.  They are both getting underway later this summer.  Right now if they have a long weekend, they will drive home for visits.  This has been great, so we will enjoy these visits now because once underway, they will be gone for a while.

Lance's Mom, my youngest son also graduated and played football that year. I bet they know each other. My Navy daughter is my oldest and I doubt she knows Lance.
Sailormomterry my sailor is a NUKE. She finished A school as a MM Petty Officer Thrid class in September and started power school in November. Once they are done with PS its onto prototype which is where they actually work as if on the "boats ". She hates it when I call ships /subs "boats ".
I'm so glad I checked back in and found neighbors. Navy Moms was a blessing before she left and while in BC. I have made great contacts /friends all laughing and crying over/about the same things. We are a special bunch we are.

LisaP,  We live on 55 toward Blacksburg.  Past Mcgills.  Off Deal Road.  Lance was a 2008 graduate of CHS.  He played football the year the Eagles won state.  Our kids may know each other.  I would love to meet with you and any other Navy Mom's in the area.  I will send you a message with my phone number on it.  Call me.  I would love to talk.  Lance leaves Feb 26th for GL
