Welcome to all our new members.  I am in Charleston so please let me know if I can ever be of assistance while your daughter is here for Nuke School.  StarChild, this is my 10th year without my Dad and it doesn't get easier.  I miss him so much.

Welcome to the new Navy Sisters. You are among a GREAT group of ladies.

Well this is the first Father's Day without my dad and I did pretty good. I woke up and wanted to call him. That is when the tears started but then my oldest son text me to tell me Happy Father's Day. He mentioned all the times I practiced basketball and softball with him. How I worked so hard to take care of him and his brother. Even when I remarried he let me know that I didn't stop working to make sure they were taken care of. Now Sisters that made me cry even more but I was so happy. My son spent the day with me watching my favorite tv shows and eating junk food. We had a wonderful time. My sailor called him and they teased me about how I used to give them 'the look' when they would act up in a store. They said they KNEW they were going to get it when they got home. HA!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day. Hope you have a great week.

purplegiraffe69, How exciting for you to have a child follow in a parents footsteps. My daughter is the first in my family to join the NAVY, I have a grandfather who was in the Army and at Pearl Harbor and thats where she wants to go. We were lucky while she was in BC, I have a highschool friend who works at GL and kept us informed on how she was doing. So even though I couldnt talk to her I could talk to them and get all the info I need. NO special treatment given I think they were harder on her because of it. She faired well but hated the lack of sunshine. Good luck to your son.

Lisa, hey fellow york county mom!!! We are in Fort Mill.   Congrats on your Daughters graduation and yeah she is in SC for a while.   When my son graduates in August he will be at Dam Neck (Near Norfolk), VA for a while!   He was born on a naval base in Japan, so I know he wants to go overseas, I hope he does!!!   Can't wait to get my form letter so I know his graduation date.

Hello Moms, I'm also a York county mom, Clover, with a Sailor (NUKIE) that arrived in Goosecreek last week. She classed up and starts classes on Monday. I am so thankful she is in state for the next 18 months or so. After 8 weeks of not hearing her voice I get to see her every weekend if I want. HOOYAH!! I'm looking forward to hanging out here with you all.

Welcome purplegiraffe69.  Congrats to your son.  Join "Boot Camp Moms" as well.  After putting twin sons through boot camp on two separate occasions, I found that group so much help.  After you learn which group he is in, you can then start and new group or search for a present group of Moms under that group.  It helps make the weeks go by faster.  I wrote my boys every day which also helped.  Plus we are always here to help you and support you.  In a few days you will receive the "kid in the box" which is always hard.  I just held and smelled their clothes.  Also, if he took a cell phone, they will take it apart, so make sure you look for the battery hidden in a shoe.

Hi, i am new. We live in yorkcounty, near Charlotte. We just left my oldest at the hotel
, he flies to great lakes tomorrow. I am thankful for my other 5 kids to keep me busy. My hubby and I are prior Navy (both CTM's) so i am excited for my sons adventure, and sad he is gone.

Whooppeeeee! Annm-I knew you could do it! Congrats to you.

My sailor is in NY for Fleet Week. He is enjoying visiting different places. He will be home in July for a while. Since I will be out of school for the summer, I will have more time to be with him.

Glad to hear from you Susan. We all go off the deep end more than we want to. You are in good company.

Thanks annm, I hope you LIKED it. Leave me a comment sometime. Try to answer the monthly trivial questions. It really helps it grow when people view and comment. Thanks for checking it out.

I want to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you. You have been my rock for the past 2 years and I hope we have a chance to meet one day. Love you all!

Not too much activity these days but I know we are always on each others mind and in our hearts. Susan-he bought a buddy too with laundry! HA! Yes he has come a long way from Boot camp. How are you doing?

Annm-I know you have the position. You deserve it!

If anyone you know is on Facebook, please tell them to go to my Travel page: facebook.com/way2gonow. I decided to publish it and do something I love to do. I book travel and give tips to those who travel. I post trivial questions and travel quotes. It is very exciting researching places and learning the history of those places. The US has such beautiful places.
