Just watching the weather channel it looks good for us wind and rain that is about all which is good. My oldest son lives in palm beach he is lucky too.
we did not feel the earthquake here outside of
Charleston.
Hi! That's good...they evacuated the middle and high schools (they sit side by side) today because of the earthquake; not sure why, but some places around here did feel tremors. I didn't where I work, though. Hope everyone is okay.
My son leaves in 13 days...still okay so far. He's been working out like crazy; of course, there's not much else to do right now. He is ready to go.
Thanks...my dad wants to haul the motercycle out to him and it's helpful to know when he may be able to have it.
He will be working out with a guy that is going into the SEALs starting tomorrow...he is the older brother of some friends he played football with. I keep hearing that they make the 15 second call crying so expect it but I just can't imagine him doing that; he is so excited about going and is prepared for what they will put him through. The best thing I can do for him is let him know I will be okay.
Jacketfan - I think my Sailor got his car at week 6 or 8. Cant remember. I think its sad that so many Sailors are confined to base. They need to get away as much as possible on the weekends because of the crazy study schedules. Someplace to unwind and get away from it all. My son has adjusted well. We were in Charleston every weekend until he got his car. Its a two hour trip for us. Now he comes home every chance he gets, as long as neither one of them has "watch". (he married while there) He just graduated A Shool last Friday and wont phase up again until October. Crazy time lapse dont ya think?
Thanks! He has been swimming daily, and he does push ups and sit ups. I think he's planning to add running this week, but it's usually not a problem for him. He had to run a lot for both football and wrestling and he also did one year of track, but that was sprints not long distance. He runs 5 miles periodically rather than regularly. He is SO ready to go!
I feel better today; feel normal for the first time in a while. I know it won't last, but it feels good to feel normal for a change.
Just need to get an answer to a question we are debating. I don't think they are allowed to have vehicles while they are in A school without special permission, which is rare. Is this right? My son has a motercycle and he wants to take it to San Antonio when he is able to, but I didn't think they would allow it until he gets to his first duty station. I know it's still a little while in the future, but I'm a planner. I figured ya'll would know! Thanks
We have 3 weeks left befor he leaves. He is actually leaving on Labor day. It's coming so fast, but I've done well this week.
