Vincent asked me to put this plug in for him. If you know anyone in the market for a car in the Columbia area, come by to see him at JT's KIA on Killian Rd. OR if they want to purchase a used car from Dodgeland on Greystone Blvd he will be able to assist. Vincent Smith

He has a job now and he is doing well. I am doing a HAPPY DANCE!!! I am very proud of him. I don't know if he is thinking about the navy now but my nephew is.

Hello Sisters I'm baaaccccccckkkk! Welcome Jacketfan24! You are definitely a part of a wonderful group of women. We support each other, cry together, laugh together and when one of us are upset we are willing to form a Navy Mom fleet and fight together.

I have been catching up on all that I have missed. Susan, I missed driving the Kleenex truck but I know you handled it well.

Love the pictures Labmom.

So many of our babies are getting married and some all of a sudden. Let's pray that they have a long and loving marriage.

Sandy-I am with you. I need MILLER TIME, CALGON, OR A ROW OF SHOTS! And I feel like a hair hanging on a biscuit (now I love this).

I have been busy getting all of my work turned in for school. My last day was the 10th and I turned in the last of my paperwork last Tuesday. Then I received a call from a minister's wife wanting me to do an Internet & Mobile Safety Workshop on Sat. Three days from Tuesday and very last minute but I agreed anyway. My resident at the nursing facility was in distress (aspirating and turning purple) so I had to monitor her daily. There goes my 'laying on the sofa and not getting up until........'. Between going back and forth to the nursing facility and getting my presentation completed (again-I lost it once) I have been drained. The presentation was yesterday and there were over 100 people including 32 ministers. I have an invitation to go back and several invitations to present at several other churches and schools. I have been to Charleston and Atlanta. I met a Lt. Colonel from Va and she wants a video to show the Board of the school she is a part of so I can go do a workshop. There goes my 'laying on the sofa and not getting up until........'. I plan on retiring from the school district next school year but I may have to do it sooner. I am enjoying meeting people and traveling.

Louis came home two weekends in a row. Last night he and I sat down to spend time together. It was nice but the next thing I remember is the infomercials watching me. He is taking his dad to lunch for Father's Day then heading back to Norfolk. He is going underway on July 6-the same day his dad has back surgery and returning the end of Aug. I go back to school on July 18th. There goes my 'laying on the sofa and not getting up until........'.

I am very proud of him.  He actually wants to be a combat corpsman as well, attatched to a marine unit if he can.

Thanks!  My son is in DEP and is scheduled to leave Sept. 6.  He is going to be a corpsman and he can't wait to leave.  My husband was Air Force, so all the Navy stuff is totally new to me and this site has been a Godsend.  I'm grateful we have the summer with him, though, while I get used to the idea of an almost empty house.  I'm really going to miss him, but I am so proud of what he wants to do with his life.

I'm actually in Greer, and work in Greenville.  Sandy, congrats on your son's marraige.

Oh Lawd!!  People!!! The Navy took my boy and sent me back someone else. He got married, to a very nice girl in A school (knows her all of 4 months) and still calls his mom just about everyday....Praying he makes the right decisions for the both of them.  I try not to worry.  Theres not much I can do about it, but...what the cornbread heck was he thinking?  Work has been overwhelming with all the new changes.  River time!!!  Lake time!!  Beach time!! Miller Time!!!  I'm hanging on...like a hair in a biscut~

No I don't have Facebook.  I'll see if my daughter can pull it up and send it to me.  Thanks so much.  I knew one of the great moms on this site would know how.

Quick question - my son is on hold at GL and yesterday many of them had to get together to form "100" on the field for Flag Day.  Do you know where on line I might be able to try to find that photo?

One more time!

Good morning Ladies!

Weddings, funerals, new babies and life keeps on full speed ahead. Can it slow down just a little? I need to catch up! Speaking of weddings, my Sailor says he's getting married today at 2........ ok...I'm dealing with it. Not sure what he's thinking or why the hurry, but....he WANTS to be married. Whew! We took the boat out yesterday evening after work. Unwinding after a long week. Dinner at River City Cafe on the ICW and lots of nature on the way back. Deer, raccoons, alligators, a huge white & gray owl, and a osprey with a fish flying to his nest. Along with two giggling teenage girls. Life is good. Its not always what I expect or want but its Life none the less. I'm rollling with it. When I count all my blessings, all the other stuff seems not so bad. Enjoy your day Ladies. As one of you said before, make today count!!!!
