Welcome to SC Julie. Boy working already. You are definitely not a SLOW LEAK girl. I love sleeping on an air mattress. My sailor put my air mattress in his room and it has been there since he left for boot camp last October.

Annamichael-welcome to our group. Jump aboard the crazy train and the wild roller coaster ride. Hold on for a ride of your life. I hope you move to SC.

Well Sisters, I just finished looking at some many videos about cyberbullying, sexting and predators that my mind is whirling. I also looked at the texting lingo and I have been enlightened. I am tired now and going to bed. Hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday.

Hi everyone! My boyfriend is in A school right now in P'cola and then will stay there for C school for IT ATF. After this, he will be stationed. On his "wish" list, he is putting Charleston as #1. We live in NC, so VA and SC are really close to home. I don't really have much of an opinion about where we go anymore, I just can't wait to be with him again. :) Obviously, we go where they tell us and we're not betting on anything, but I just wanted to get all the info I can about the various possibilities.

I was wondering what you all think of Charleston? I'm a Kindergarten teacher and would like to work at least part time, with something dealing with education. Any suggestions? Do many of you work full time?

Thank you for any insight you have! It would be greatly appreciated!!

It is kind of quiet around here. That can only mean that we are doing fine on this roller coaster ride for the moment. That is a good thing.

Susan-when I saw the video I wanted to jump into it and stop the girl then beat the man senseless. I use this video because it is so powerful but it breaks my heart at the same time.

Julie-where are you????

Julie-You drive careful and be safe!!! Let us know when you arrive in the SC.

Thanks for the support everyone. I work with children and older adults and I feel so blessed to have a GREAT passion for both. There is a weekend Boot Camp training for KidZafe in Atlanta next month and I wanted to go soooo bad but I decided that I could not do EVERYTHING right now. Last night, I prayed about it then went to bed. Around 8:00am this morning my classroom phone rang and a MILLIONAIRE from Atlanta contacted me to let me that she has heard about me and how I am trying to educate children and parents about internet safety in SC and she wanted to help me. She told me that my weekend Boot Camp training has been paid for and all I have to do is go to Atlanta. And she looks forward to seeing me next month. CAN YOU SEE ME DOING A HAPPY DANCE!!!!!

Occupying my mind with something other than Louis has helped me during my roller coaster ride. I know that God is guiding me. A little scared?? Yes! A little crazy?? Yes! A little stupid?? Heck no! I am going to Atlanta!!!!

My favorite Bible verse is Psalms 3:5-6- Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not onto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.

JulieR, please be extremeley careful.  The area you are getting ready to go through is supposed to be very bad this afternoon.  You might want to sit it out there until tomorrow.

Hello all- whew so much happening in the little time I have been gone. Packing, vacations, crying, weddings, birthdays and not sweatin' the small stuff moments (for you Susan). Well I don't know if I am up or down. Louis text or texted (which one is it?) me Monday and told me that he will be working 6 on and 6 off and then going underway for a few days. Deployment soon but don't know when. At least he will be back in two weeks. No contact again. I feel like I am at boot camp!!!

I have some good news!! I am now a Certified Internet & Child Safety Advocate. I will be volunteering at churches, schools or any place that will have me educating community leaders, parents and their children about cyber bullying, online predators and sexting. I decided to do this because one of my students (third grade) took pics of himself and was showing them to his classmates. He had a phone that was not in service but the camera still worked. This is happening to our children too often and they do not know the legal ramifications for their actions. His parents were devastated and so embarrassed when they had to meet and discuss the situation. The other reason I decided to become an Advocate is I am already an Advocate for my students at school and I don't mind going out on a limb for them and their parents when no one else will. So my passion for children ventured out of the school and into the community. I have already met with several law enforcement individuals and they are guiding me in the direction I need to go. I will keep you posted.

Susan - I left on the crazy train, just got back!  So happy you missed me!!  Tamme, great news your son is going to be so close.  But very scary about joining the Marines.  I'm so blessed to have my son home almost every weekend.  I hug him so tight every time, because I know how hard it will be when he does deploy.  I've got my box packed for Afganistan.  Red Man chewing tobacco, Maxim magazines, Sports Illustrated Nascar Issue and the Swimsuit Issue.  Last but not least - boiled peanuts in the can!  All special request from my friends son!!  She got a call last week.  He was tired and down.  He told her if they didnt get some back up relief really soon, he didn't know what would happen.  They are fighting in poppy fields.  Of course she's a basket case!  We went out with friends over the weekend so she could relax alittle, if only for the moment.  I was on vacation last week and didnt go anywhere.  Nothing on my list got done.  House full of youngins who wanted to sleep til noon everyday.  Dang itt!!  So.......my next vacation, I'm packing a bag and going somewhere sunny and breezy.  I'm over it... Yall have a fabulous day!!  Oh, I did make it to the river Saturday & Sunday.  Burnt up!!
